Hi all....I am looking to get into the rc hobby and if all goes well...shortly I will have an ntc3 team kit assembled with a fantom .15 engine (minus Tx and Rx). I am told with proper tuning that this is capable of about 70 mph. Does this sound right at all? I realize this is an engine forum so I will get to the question I meant to ask before getting sidetracked. Forgive me if this is a stupid question but what is the difference between a slide carb..and a rotary?

If you would like to know about speeds perhaps asking in the on road section will benefit you more.

On a rotary carburetor, the barrel is opened as the throttle arm is turned by the servo. On a slide carb, nothing rotates. The carb opens by sliding the barrel out.

People say slide carbs are more sensitive, respond faster and rotary carbs give a smoother bottom end feel than slide carbs. I don't see too much of a difference other than rotary's are easier to maintain/setup.
