i like how you have your engine mounted. i didnt know you could mount like that. curious would mounting it on its side be ok to or is it better at the angle your using. are you going to use your stock muffler or pitts. what do you recomend. another question i am a jr user. what jr servos would you recomend for this plane. this will be my first giant plane so i dont know to much about larger torqe servos

As for the OS 160 FX you cann't mount it sideways without having the stock muffler interfering with the firewall.
And yes,
i will use the stock muffler.

Kostas,

It's a beauty! I love BMWs. I rented a 525 a few months ago when I've been in Germany and it was awsome to get it to 250 km/h on the Autobahn...

Guys,

Please, help me.

I've started to build the plane and I've just attached the recommended Fuji 32 Engine.

Í know it's a very stupid question, but do you guys have a diagram or something like that teaching how to install the aluminum spinner on this engine?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Flavio

I no longer have the building book, but the spinner went right on the G38.. Sorry I have no info for you.. all I know is you put the back plate on first behind the prop and the spinner bolted right on the G38 after you tighten up the prop. .. Brian

Hi, Brian!

Thanks for the input.

I just can't figure how do I do it. Which bolt should I use? On the Fuji there's a bolt that goes right into the shaft, over the prop...

It's probably a stupid question but I just can't understand how to do it on the Fuji.

Thanks anyway!

Does the prop bolt have a threaded hole in the center? You first install the spinner back plate.. Then the prop, then the prop washer and tighten.. The hole in the center of the spinner takes a bolt that goes into the center of the prop bolt.. The prop bolt "has" to be drilled and tapped for the spinner bolt.. The G38 was.. Is the Fugi? Brian

You can buy spinner adapters to accomdate any motor thread size for the aluminum spinner.

I finally got to fly my super sportster last weekend and boy did I wring her out. With all the tail feather reinforcing, I think she's good to go this time. I was flat spinning, and doing all kinds of high speed high torque manuevers and it never flinched. Then I poured the smoke in it and I dirtied up the skies. What fun!

But my muffler came loose on my motor (G38) and the kill switch fell off and is hanging by the cord so I've got a little bit of maintenance to do before she flies again. Then I forgot to secure the wing on the trip home and it fell causing a little bit of wing damage that's going to take probably about 30 minutes to fix.

I do love this plane, but so far, it's the highest maintenance plane I've got

Just brought mine home today

It is my first giant plane, 160 FX with stock muffler and all 4721 ultra torque servos
I have had a 40 size and built the 60 in the past and really enjoyed them from what I hear I am in for a treat.

I am looking for any building negatives about this plane so I can reinforce parts if needed, landing gear and so on, should I use a onboard glow system? I know the engine will be on a angle with the stock muffler.

Read the entire thread about beefing up the tail section. This is a definite! I took mine out two weekends ago and TORE UP THE SKIES with it. I mean I worked that thing like it shouldn't be worked (Zenoah G 38). No problems at all. Solid airframe, just needs some tail feather reinforcement.

All I can say, is that you are in for a treat!!!
