Well, new sound drivers didn't work so we are still dead in the water. Parts for new PC are on order so when they come in I'll build a desktop with the XP operating system,my other desk tops all run Vista along with my laptop, lots of ram(2gig),video is new Radeon 512mb card...This should work....but I`m just a little concerned with the hassle I`ve had. It certainly doesn`t inspire me to ever by another Hanger 9 product....ever.

I am using FS1 and Expansion Pack 1 and Futuba T9CAP. I am trying to setup the TRex 450 Heli.

My question is when setting up the interface and calibration all of the axis and channels look good and responsive.

When checking the servo column the throttle hold and rotary VRC don't affect any servo. Therefore I don't have a throttle hold on the two position SW G in the case of the T9CAP.

Also I don't have any gyro control.

Has anyone come across this problem?

Better yet does anyone have the setup written out?

So, I've got a question for you guys; does anyone fly 3d airplanes? and if so, has anyone flown the Tirbute 3D. I'm curious if it does harriers, and hovers. I've been playing around with this plane and I know I'm not a 3d pilot (although I've flown rc planes many years ago), but I can't seem to hold a slow flight steady. I'm sure it is just my skill level, but it would reassure me if someone else could verify that this plane in FSOne actually does 3d in it's stock configuration.
Thanks

Learjet1,
Did you solve these issues? The throttle hold is just a channel assignment in the software set up, I don't know what a "VRC" is. The gyro problem is weird though. What kind of control do you want? For the most part if the tail holds that's all it will do? (There is some customization of the gyro, but each time I tried to adjust it FSOne crashed.)

Scott -- The Tribute is a 3D airplane in it's stock form. If you are new to 3D you may want to try the following to help with your learning:

Go to the Aircraft Selection Menu. Use the combo box on the right to select "Scaled: All Airplanes". Then select "Scaled Tribute 12 ft span". This oversized Tribute is not only quite a bit of fun to fly, but it's slower response is helpful in learning 3D maneuvers and hovering. Give it a try. I had a visitor to the 2006 Toledo show try this approach at the show with great success. He even came back to the booth a second time with his girl friend, saying "this is the sim that taught me how to hover".

I still have these problems.
VR (C) is one of the rotary knobs. It is called out in the initial channel/axis assignments on the transmitter edit screen.
The throttle hold is also on the tx edit page and is shown on the servo mapping as controlling the throttle servo.
Neither function from the transmitter will control any of the servos. However these transmitter functions show activity on the tx assignment and calibrate screens. They just don't control any of the servos.

Many thanks Brian, The scaled Tribute 12 footer sure makes the learning process easier. Scott H

That Scaled tribute is very cool and makes learning certain things easier, it's also easier to see. Which got me thinking, can I scale the Trex? I bet it can be done, but there are no selections like wingspan for the heli's, or for that matter alternate motor sizes. Anyone come up with a way to scale a heli?

Learjet,
Here's what I have for you, I think you need to change the channel assignments. Click on the transmitter and copy it if you have not already done so, then click edit. This should bring you up to this image. This is the channel assignment selection. On my transmitter screen the throttle hold switch was channel 6 or second from the bottom and it says throttle hold switch in the blue channel name section. on that same line, move left to the very first column where it says source and then click on the axis on the same line as the throttle hold. Your task is to figure out which axis on the transmitter is throttle hold. I don't think you need to change the Input type where it says Controller axis, but probably the next field down. as you can tell from this image my DX6 controller has the throttle hold on Axis 4.
Give it a try and see what happens, let me know.
Scott H

Brian -

any news on another expansion pack in the works?

I'd love to see a few more helis, especially the TREX 600 (both Electric and Nitro) for FS One. Also, a default controller configuration for the DX7 would be nice.

Thanks!

Yes, another expansion is in the works.

Thanks for the suggestions, we'll consider those.
