Yes, I have the TacCon cotroller and have gone through the steps several times...including pressing the button(s) several times.
Thanks for bearing with me.
Howard

Strange... Can you try this?: Pick a plane, say the T-34. Then in the radio section pick this Tx category: JR 6-ch Emu. Then in that category, pick the T-34 Tx from the list. Don't even bother calibrating again. Do you still get the sputter when you try to fly?

I just went through the sequence again. When I go full throttle, it sputters and the messages in the upper left of the screen show; "starter engaged..engine running" and it sputters.
Thanks,
Howard

Maybe someone else might have some ideas here, but as for me I'm stumped. What you describe sounds like a continuous 'reset' command which is exactly what happens when people don't calibrate the buttons. I suggest you call Horizon on Monday to get their live tech support. Whatever it is, it's fixable and again it has nothing to do w/ your hardware. Their number is: (877)504-0233

I just doubled checked about the transmitter. I had not set it up right. The T-34 Jr worked! Funny when it came up it was sitting on it's belly since the gear switch was up. Got it reset (had to use the keyboard) and away we went. Crashed twice..would not loop good with the gear down! That part worked, any other ideas?
Thanks for getting me going and at least it is not my hardware!

Hey Michael,
Glad you see you around. Hope all is well.

Howard, now that you've got one plane - transmitter combo working, go back to the other setup. Pick any plane and make sure you get the correct transmitter. you may still need to calibrate it. Eventually you'll find your grove with the software and begin loving it. One thing I've found with the software, if there are instructions, do not skip a step. Each step is vitally important to the next. It maybe something very simple, so no matter what, follow those instructions.

I'm glad to hear that things are working - part way.

The fact that you can fly w/ the other Tx setup in FS One tells me that something about the buttons is not getting calibrated correctly. The "6-Ch Emu" Tx setups remove the buttons and like you figured out you can use the keyboard for resets.

You'll notice that when you pick a different airplane, it will automatically pick the TacCon Tx setup. If you want to keep using the 6-Ch setup for now (eliminating the buttons), there's a checkbox in Options that turns off the "autoload" of the TacCon Tx setup. Turn off that feature. With that off, there's no autoload so you'll need to pick the right Tx for each airplane ... that is, until the issue gets sorted out.

Back to the issue, you can try this: Go to the Microsoft Game Controller Gadget in the Control Panel (outside of FS One). Pick the TacCon controller. Look and see of the sliders move when you press the TacCon buttons. If one slider moves when you press the buttons (both buttons), then the buttons are working properly - nothing wrong w/ the physical TacCon hardware. If all that happens, then it all goes back to the calibaration issue in the sim. Like Scott mentioned, you don't want to skip a step, but based on what you've said you're not missing anything there ... so I'm still stumped (for now).

(Scott, Yes!, back on the forums here. I went through a move lately - gasp!)

Michael

HELLO (again) FSONE support personnel.

I need help IN A BAD WAY......Your staff helped me to get the SIM going. The PC problem was dealt with a DIRECT CONNECTION from your HORIZON office ( Brian? - Mike? )and finally it was decided that it would work well if I purchased the original system TACON.....this was DONE.
NOW there are just two things that are not working and render the SIM : UN-USEABLE !!!!
- the RESET does not work, and this makes me click the ESC button which resets after a complete cycle ( about 4 or 5 minutes ).. this gets OLD, quick, but is the least of my problems ! :

2 - the WORST PART : ( need to practice HELI ) is that the model HELIS are so EXTREMELY SENSITIVE that it becomes impossible to fly (or learn anything ! ) .... it is impossible to INPUT STICK MOVEMENT small enough.....the helicopter just skoots off in any direction, the slightest touch reverses the direction and the machines fly off as if POSSESSED. This happens on any model heli, even the DOUBLE BLADED ONES.
a sensitivity of this magnitude makes it impossible to fly.....I CANNOT EVEN GET A HELI TO HOLD A HOVER ,,,, The drift off is immediate, AND EXPONENTIAL, to make it even worse. In a fraction of a second the heli is gone : O O S

I KNOW THAT I AM GIVING A CORRECT DESCRIPTION OF THE FS-ONE DEFECT, because I can HOVER quite well in real life : Electrics AND the Raptor 30.....so it should work in the SIM....but : NOT
Is HORIZON willing to help, as was done before ???????

Thanks for reading.. RICHARD F. BARR

For some reason the electric helis do that. I've tried adding loads of expo to roll/pitch, which helps but there is still the throttle/collective crazyness. Have you tried having a look at the heli mix settings? I don't know enough about it myself, but I've been thinking there could be something wrong in there.

The glow helis do not do this however and seem to be fine as default: Voyager 50 and Bell are the best IMO. I have a blast with the Voyager 50

Make sure you have the heli update installed.

Richard,
Are you trying to fly the biggest helis? The bigger the more stable. Also, it concerns me that you can fly/hover in real life, but not in the sim. Seems quite odd. I might try to change the sim multiplier setting from 1.0 to .5 or something like that to see if it made a difference. But it might be even better to call Horizon's tech support and get them on the phone to deal with this directly.
Also, make sure that you have all the updates done, complete calibration, drivers updated - maybe you know all this already, if so, I apologize for repeating this.
I know it can be quite frustrating.
Best of luck
Scott H

How do you add expo in FSOne? I never realized we could! Or are you doing it using your own controller?

I agree that the Voyager 50 is the most realistic heli model in FSOne. It's what I use to train for my TREX 450. The Bell is just a blast because it's so ridiculously stable!

Expo is added in the Edit transmitter function.

copy transmitter, name it and save it. Edit copied transmitter. In the edit function one of the columns is expo, simply adjust that value for the stick function you want to change. Then switch the transmitter (on the trac controller) to idle up and change the expo setting in the edit transmitter window for that stick function too.

Click OK and try flying. (by the way, this is based on memory, so I hope I didn't steer you wrong)
Good luck
