I agree. There's a lot of flex in the plastic towers, but so far no breakage.

took 2 out what a drama put brand new picco plugs in engines neither liked em after 10 mins of pulling dropped in back up plug vroom running but buggy was going in reverse diffs where wrong way round quick swap round sorted that first tank rich so to settle with fuel, second tank started off ok but then started having crazy high idle, as much as I lower idle I realised the linkage was hampering carb to close true, so went about fitting proper linkage using bits from pit box.

Hey guys, I have a quick question about fitting bigger engines into the sportwerks chaos frame.

These are .12 Small blocks. Will they be able to fit into the sportwerks chaos? If not, what kinds of mods would I need to do to make them fit?

i always wanted one of these so bad, but something else always turned up, last time it was a trinity next- what a POS diff busting, servo stripping, shock leaking, heavy POS.

i have a rc18t now and is much faster than a chaos, but it is cool to know something so small can house a combustion motor.

From the looks of your 540 beast. It seems that there will likely be enough clearance for the .12 engine to fit with a pull start installed. Thing is, I don't mess with bump start box engines so thats why I am wondering whether the chaos can be able to hold a pull start engine without it rubbing against any of the parts on the chassis already.

be best you have a chaos first to really judge if .12 conversion best route, theres been a conversion done with 18 running slipper clutch but is 2wd best option IMO due too diff cups melt out with .5 toki power yet alone 12

Well, here's my plan. There's only one "quality" hobby shop around my area. I havent been inside the store in a while but from what I can remember. They have a Chaos on display, They also have one brand new in box. I'm going to bring my engine in and ask if I can look at their display model. Hopefully theyre nice enough to let me examine the chassis and stuff. I don't know If I would buy there other Chaos NIB as I dont need the radio and servos or engine because I have my own. Do you think a LHS would be willing to sell there RC's they have on display. I have no experience buying RC's at the shop because I usually buy from ebay or online stores.

Sorted that 2 tanks on then rear pinion stripped lasted longer then expected So in went metal pinions front an rear, also dropped in a metal geared servo for thottle as stock wasn't getting full throw even tho EPA on radio was at max proper now want to fit metal gear servo on steering just saver gotto sort.
waiting on weather to get better/dry then out bedding in pinions

Good job RJ...that sounds like my story 2 or 3 years ago. I've had the Trinity metal pinions for some time now, and use my patented "fill-hole hole" with Associated 5000 wt Silicone oil (very thick); this stuff doesnt seep out much, and I can visually check the gears and fill it often. Check out some of my posts from way back when to see pics.

Well here it is my first nitro conversion; I just finished it last night
Mamba 25 ESC
Algin 430 Motor
Stock Receiver & steering servo
Elite 1500mah 7 cell battery
15t 32 pitch pinion gear with stock spur gear
Not my best work but it’s ok
We will see how long the diffs last

Ok I've been trying to find info in this thread, but there are so many pages, I'm getting blurried eyed.
I'm about to try and do an electric conversion on my Chaos. Has anyone figured out a way for it to survive Brushless?
Should I just stick with a Brushed version?
Is there anything posted like instructions on converting? Or is it simply just remove all nitro stuff, make a bracket to hold the motor, and add electronics?

Got some spring fever this weekend here in NY and I got out the chaos and was terrorizing my neighborhood. I just LOVE the way it sounds like a mini screaming F1 racer down the block!

I also tried a bit of grass and a pebble path on the side of my house (very careful to ensure smooth power application and to keep up momentum to preserve the glass diffs). Looks like there is a small leak in the head somewhere since I have oil around the glowplug and some out the back of the head. Buggy is now a mess, but still so much FUN!

Just picked up one of these brand new for a hundred buck$. Its a fun little car. Only did 3 tanks so far and the first 2 was breaking it in. Running like a champ for now. Reading up on these, and the diffs seem the weak link. What can I do to beef em up, or are there any diffs that are compatible with the Chaos? I know it's discontinued, but its a mini nitro and so dam cool.
