Does any one know what it will take to get Sportwerks/Horizon Hobby on the ball to make some better diffs? Has anyone spoken with either, and if so what was there response? It sounds to me from reading this forum that realy besides a few minor issues the diffs are the only problems. Tires and stuff like that can be easily fixed, but if the eternal stuff messes up well thats the heart of the car. I just bought one for my son to give to him on his B-day (Jan 28) and was hoping to nip the diff issue in the bud before then. Doesn't look promising though. I wish some one would hurry with the diff locking idea and give us a full report. I know this car is small and not meant to be driven like a 1/8 or 1/10 scale, but you should be able to be a little rough with it such as small jumps and what not. Why would any of us by one if you were only supposed to drive in a circle on a flat surface? Sportwerks should be interested in throwing a diff upgrade out there to help with sells. Last but not least, can someone post a link for me on the tires and wheels that there are using and happy with.

P.S. I say that we all band together and call and put the pressure on Sportwerks and Horrizon for this upgrade. If we all bombard them with this request then maybe something will get done. It can't hurt thats for sure. Lets all comit to three calls a day until we get some positive response! Power in unity baby!

Would like to find out which servo brand fits these splines.....GWS, Bluebird, Cirrus????????? Anyone have these to compare?

Does not use HS-55 or S3108......that's all I can compare it too at the moment.

Heyas
I use GWS nano was a drop in fit perfecly. Had to change it out after 10 tanks, im up to 15 tanks now with no problems. Ordered some MG ones from Hongkong think its the same spline, ill let ya know. Otherwize is there MG's that will fit GWS? My difffs are still holding,if when they go ill take to lhs and try to get a match. Also ordered Alloy Drive Adaptor Set for Mini-Inferno,Velocity Dish Wheel 2PCS Set WHITE - PRO-line Mini-Inferno and some Alloy Front Adjustable Spring Damper Mini-Inferno these should all fit. Post some pics when I getem installed. Great little car havin fun wit it

I really doubt Horizon Hobby or Sportwerks will make a make a ball diff for the Chaos........

30% will actually help the engine run cooler.

I just want some metal in those diffs. It doesn't have to be ball just some type of upgrade. They could justify it by knowing there going to make money on it. Who wouldn't buy a set? I still think we need to bug the piss out of them.

Heyas has anyone used 1.2v rechargables for reciever was wondering how 4.8v perfomance compares too 6v. I would think that power too servos would be lost. Is this true

Anyone looking to put a regular size rx pack in the chaos, build it like this;

The one side cell fits between the outdrives on the center rear axle.

Heyas this looks to be the ticket SMASHN can I get more info on cells used and how you mounted it

Yes and No.......4 cell alkalines put out less amperage than 4 cell nicads or nimhs. So even though with 4 cell alkalines voltage is 6 volts, there is very little amperage behind it.
4 cell rechargables off the charger is around 5.4 volts, (4.8 is about 50% charge), but the amperage is higher, so it will not feel like your lacking servo power.

I am using 4 AAA nimh in the stock battery box.......works fine.

If you are going to build a 5 cell pack, the voltage off a fresh charge is around 6.75 volts....it will make the servos faster, and put out more torque, but will actually consume current at a faster rate, and also put more heat in the servo circuits and could cause them to strip gears or burn up faster.....most mini servos don't like that extra voltage.

I just bought the Chaos in the box (only break in time on it) from my best friend for 50$ as my first r.c car. Is there anyplace I can get after markets or what other motors I can put on? Im mainly looking for different tires, wings, bodies or any performance parts mainly that I can get my hands on. Thanks!

k thanks.. well I found another store on ebay that carries tires, aluminum parts, and the spoked rims. Also I often come across the .07 motors that Im thinking about getting as an upgrade. the diff concerns me though since the gears are plastic.

Mamba 25 ESC
Algin 430 Motor
Stock Receiver & steering servo
Elite 1500mah 7 cell battery
15t 32 pitch pinion gear with stock spur gear
Not my best work but it’s ok

Well I got my Chaos today.. hour of driving and getting it tuned, clutch was acting up so I decided to adjust it then it did better and batteries died in the car and the front left wheel hit dead smack at the wheel on my boat trailer... Broke the shock tower and my servo. Also my tires are worn so I have a few choices... (keep in mind I do mostly street driving.)

Then as replacement parts I will be getting:

AT least im following the quote in my signature...

What are the symptoms of the one-way bearing going bad in the engine? When I first pull on the pull start it feels normal for a few pulls, but then all of sudden it feels like there is no resistance or turning of the crank. Hope I described it good enough. I've only had this happen recently. I've been able to start him up with no issues about 8-10 times before. I've checked my glow plug (and others) and they are good.

Talked with Horizon yesterday...They are very nice and helpful, but they have no intentions to make metal diffs. For all the money I have been spending fixing stuff on this I wish I would have bought a macked out Mini Inferno.
Has anyone used the Iwaver alum alloy wheels?

Hey there,
I got some new tires and wheels already assembled and preglued, a set of 4 wheels and tires for $16.64+1.64 shipping. I might have got them a little cheaper if I did some searching , but oh well.
Rcboyz.com or ebay under rcboyz item number 350015588896, 350015590582. They are Kyosho Mini Inferno X-Pattern Tires & yellow Wheels

Thanks boberz, Im sure ill order the yellow ones but you you have any clue on how much longer it would last???

Also Ive discovered why my front wheel drive went bad then eventually my rears.... well one drive cup on the rear stripped (the little slot that slides onto the case thingy lol) then on the front theres the clutch that runs to the differential, well comming out of the differential theres another drive cup connecting to the dog bone then going to the differentials on the front wheels.. well the dive cup comming off the differential in the middle of the car stripped too. Are there stronger ones???
