ORIGINAL: maoy Hey losifiend, I ran my inferno gt at 230-250 degrees but the car keeps on overheating and it's really hard to start the engine. I was wondering how many turns from flush did you set the high speed needle? Also, this resulted in the engine burning out the glow plug (multiple times). I don't understand the inferno gt, it's really hard to keep the temperature steady if I bash around the parking lot back and fourth. I would have to bash a couple of laps then run it slowly until it cools before i can bash again. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you. If its getting to 230-250 it sounds like you're at the rite settings. As long as you dont get over 270* and lack a trail of smoke, I wouldnt worry about it. As long as there is a trail of smoke behind the car thats all that matters as that is the main sign of lubriation, which is what we all want so our engines last gallons. After break in mine wouldnt stay running eather and it was a pain in the butt to tune. But I finally found the sweat spot at 1/2 turn in from the factory setting and 2 hours in on the low end needle so it would stay idleing. It aslo helped that I ported it which makes it easier for fuel to enter the sleve during start up. I just sold that motor too, shipping it out tomorrow. I just wanted more top end if not I would of kept the .28. Here is a video of mine running around with the 427, LST2 threaded bell, aftershock flywheel and shoes, on a fat needle(still only 8 tanks on thi engine). Temps are consistant 230* with the body on or off. The engine makes peak power at around 250* so I still need to lean it out another hour or so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x_Vw8CN4HY This video was its first run with the new gears. I need to get a vid of it going WOT. It's insane!
