That's either the 1-way bearing, or it's part of the backplate. Take off the backplate and see if you can remove it.

[EDIT] Definately looks like part of the 1-way. In which case it will come out. The backplate extends about 3mm outwards in the pic....so clearance might still be an issue. You should be able to work out if it will work by looking at the tiger drive to see if it has a small void in the centre.

That's what i was talking about - it's either part of the backplate, or the 1-way.

The backplate is the part of the engine held in place with four screws. You can see the screws in the photos (not the 4 screws which hold the pullstart - the other 4)

Remove those carefully. Then see if the *sticky out part* can be removed. It probably can be. Then look at the tiger drive and see how everything fits together. If the tiger drive has any instructions - READ THEM! The 1-way is the 1-way bearing inside the engine.

Just remove the one way ( the hex nut) on the back of your engine and install the tiger drive, it has a one way in the larger drive gear.

can you take off the backplate of the engine for us to take a look? if that tiger drive is for that particular motor, then it should work.

That's the wrong tiger drive for that engine. You need one that has a shaft sticking out of it to go into the one way bearing in your back plate. Is there a shaft that you removed from the back of the engine when you removed the tigerdrive??
