Just wanted to let you guys know we're currently in production of the famous steering arm 02014.
Items 02013 & 02015 coming right behind them. We are also thinking of making the gears that everyone keeps stripping
but I'm not sure it will resolve much. I think the clutch bell needs to be done. Sorry about the pictures, it's the best I could do after several tries. It's not the finished product, it still needs to be cleaned up so don't give lip about it

These are machined out of a solid piece of 6061 T6 aluminum. No cast or mold, no modifications or other bearings needed.
This will be a direct fit, you'll be able to use the same screws that came w/ your ride.

What do you guys think? Should we anodize in the brokeback purple color to match the chassis?
Or blue to match the aluminum shocks? Or just leave it as is so people can polish for that bling bling chrome look?

Mark

well my opinion is great but i think you should do them in purple cause the shock that you get from redcat are purple also purple would match all other redcat aluminum for tonado and volcano but i guess its up to you you colud also offer them in different colors if its cost effective i dont really know how much it costs to get them colored
1 vote purple LOL

3 colors ought to make a liking to the crowd. Blue, natural and purple. Is it 6061 T6 or 7075 T6?

They look great but what do they fit? I sure hope they fit HPI MT2 then I will get a set. As far as color leave the natural silver.

Well, you know how it goes.... anodizing a whole batch of 500pcs is the same cost as anodizing 50.

I've not got the quote on the anodizing yet but depending on costs will depend on the colors available.

Colour options are good...but liek Mark said its an additional cost for each colour. I say purple, but if the cost on the part stays cheaper, which I assume, then natural.

Hey 46u,

Not sure if they will fit MT2. I know some have used the MT2 arms on Redcats with some modifications and different bearings.
Knowing that, I would say you can probably used these but can't garantee it.

These will fit the following:

Redcat Racing 1/10 scale

Lightning VX
Tornado XL and XP
Volcano STX

Himoto 1/10 scake

Syclone
Eldorada
Rapida

HSP (Hi-Speed) 1/10 scale

Sonic
Atomic Warhead
Tyrannasaurus

Does any one know where I can get a pair of direct replacement billet knuckles for my MT2? I do not want cast like most sell, as we all know if you go alloy billet is the strongest. I know this is not the best thread to ask but I have asked in the MT2 thread with out any replies. I even started a new thread asking and I am guessing no one makes them from billet as I have not had any replies.
Thanks

Hey buddy, those look great. My opinion, stick with one batch of chrome and charge a little less for those and then one batch of purple and add a few bucks to the total price for the extra coloring. All in all I can't wait untill those and the c-hubs are ready. Do you think a 47 tooth gear in all aluminum would hold up well with the aluminum clutch bell? It'd have to be an improvement over the cheap plastic crap we have now.
Thanks for all the hard work.

Hey Popper,

I'm afraid aluminum 47t gears will probably not solve anything because of the material of the clutch bell.
I'm sure you understand that it takes allot of money to produce these and we will not be 100% sure our
problem will go away. We or someone will have to have concrete details from testing before a commitment
is made to produce these and other gears (47t, 44t, etc.)

Maybe I'll try making a couple of clutch bells, both single and 2 speed and try testing out on the field.

I'm 100% sure these steering arms will be an improvement that is why we are producing 400+ pcs.

BTW, I don't mind sending a couple to a few people here on the RCU forum. I need a few guinea pigs to test these
steering arms out.

Any takers? (only need 3-5 testers) All I ask is that you give a good report here with as much detail as possible.

Mark

I don't mind being a guinea pig. I'll have to get a new carb before I can race anything though. Hey Mark you don't happen to sell the carbs off of these things do you? Or do you have any reccomendations as to what i could replace my broken one with? I have the .18 engine.
As for the report I could test my buggy out on the Track by my house with the plastic ones and then with the aluminum parts installed. Also could give pictures and details on the installation and any troubles I may run into. Let me know.

Hey bluecaka69,

Are you asking about 02021 & 02022?

If so, they look to be easier than the steering arms pictured in this thread (02014).

At some point I'm sure we will need the arm holders then titanium pins and so on..................... where will it end?

At the moment, we'll have to deal with the current problem areas/parts.

Mark
