This is the 6508 it is a direct bolt in the GT2, no citting on the threads. the TC3 nut goes right on use lock tite and the shim that comes in the GT2 kit and 1 thin shim and your set.

Forgive my ignorance, but doesn't the GT2 have to have a rear exhaust, or does it matter? Anyway, I just looked on the Associated website and it says that a standard crank with the clutch nut will work. Also, I looked at the LRP .12 that they used in the photos of the factory team GT2 and it has a longer looking shaft and it just says it needs the clutch nut. Here is the page. The engine is the one on the right. http://www.teamassociated.com/shusting/CatalogHub/lrp/engines.htm
So I should be good if I get this engine and the NTC3 clutch nut.

hmm, i dont know why they said it would work. i had an engine with a standard crank and it was way too long for the clutch nut. if you do get a standard crank engine you need to remove the drive hub in front of the front bearing and cut the crankshaft down. the short cranks dont come with the drive hub and the crank is already short enough. (finding engines for the gt2 can be hard )

I guess I will figure it out eventually. I don't plan on getting the truck for a couple of months anyway, I just wanted to have a plan of everything I needed to get. Thanks for your guys's help.

well, it seems my OS .12 is finally waking up. to get full throttle i have to have the end point on the transmitter set to 120%, and i have it set to 90%... and its still insane. i was pulling wheelies like mad off the line, but now the back of my battery box is all scratched up from all four wheels lifting off the ground. time to loosen that slipper clutch!

the GT2 can run side or rear, i prefer side because the powerbands are much smmother.

hmm, maybe there is a problem with the springs on the first couple runs of these. when i bought a new set of the same clutch springs i noticed the color was slightly different. maybe they used a different way of making it on the new runs of the springs?

How much of the kits Associated has and has Thunder Tiger making parts? Is it me or has Associated gone down hill since TT has been involved?

my diff is working fine. i took the tranny apart this weekend and there are no signs of anything wrong with it. thanks anyway, though
this is proving to be a fun car, i just dont like starter boxes. having to have that extra battery charged and everything can get in the way sometimes, but once the car does start, its awesome!

100 degrees?? WOW!

those are our night time tempuratures the alcohol roll level indicators in the helicoptors my dad flies boil and explode during the summer it gets so hot here. needless to say there is a lot of money spent on roll indicators during the summer.
