A broom handle does the same trick, as in NZ more and more wine is being sold in screw-on caps. atleast with a broom you can leave it against the workbench over night with the fuselage attached whilst it driess.trevor h, nz

Yes Trevor but with a bottle cork you have something to drink while watching it dry and it gets more exciting the longer it takes to dry

Well, I've been flying the Huri-Q 200 quite a bit over here in Cheese Land, and its time for an upgrade. I think the warp in the wing has worsened over time, and I literally can NOT turn left (even on high rates and full stick) as the plane slows down for landing. Its taught me how to land with a right hand turn final, but thats about it. It also has a weird twisting "wiggle" through the turns with full elevator.

I had to add wood to both wing plates, and fill in the holes, but that didn't take much.

Tried to mount the wing tonight, and I got the opposite problem that I had putting it together the first time with Randy's wing. I need to raise the TE of the wing about 1/8" to get the wing inicidence correct. Not sure its possible (at least easy) to lower the LE. Thought about adjusting the tail and nose incidence, but thats just as much work.

Picked up this wing a couple weeks ago, looks great.

Dave,

I would remove material from the wing saddle (Dremel with a sanding Drum) so that the wing fits the way you wish and re-pot it.

Dan,

too late, added the spacer block at the TE and will add some scrap wood and repot. I will also have to add something to the fuse behind the wing to lessen the transition behind the wing.

Pretty much a practice / local race plane. Hope to use it in Amery, WI later this summer. You should try and make that race, I believe Seaholm and his crew may make it also.

I flew the plane in Amery this weekend, and wow, it flew great. This is really a good flying combination, my only advise would be to add about 10% down Elevator mixed with low throttle to avoid the plane pitching upwards under no power. It also took me a bit to get the C.G. perfect, I'm at 3 1/8" and it is perfect for how I like to fly. At 3 1/4" it was a handfull.

Bruce's wings are definately heavy duty, I midaired Chuck E. coming back from #1 and put about a 3" hole in the leading edge of the Seeker wing. I was able to fly 4 more laps at power and the wing did not explode with all the air rushing in there like you normally see with a composite wing. A couple of strips of aluminum duct tape and its nearly as good as new.

Good combo of fuse, wing, and tail.

If I could find my camera, I'd take a picture for you Dave, but basically, I just mount mine on the left wing, with the servo edge even with center of the wing. You have to slightly angle your servo arm, and run your torque rods to the horns. I put my 1/8" ply on top of the wing (some put it inside to save room, works good on q40's) to screw my servo screws into.
