I have been looking at pylon racing for a while and have been flying rc planes for about 4 years, and thought racing would be way fun. I'm thinking of getting into it. I saw the plans for the Seeker. Is it a good beginner racing plane? Input on beginning pylon racing would be most helpful. Thank you

Hi Matt!

Have you checked out any local clubs near you to see what and if they are racing? That is by far the first question I would find out.

They may be racing a one class design to which you would be limited to the plane designated.

Personally, I would recommend one of the Arfs to start.

Get a Viper or Predator 2.

I like the way my plane flies, but the Arf is a better place to start. A lot less building, and cheaper considering everything is done and ready to go. The ARFS fly good and a lot less intimidating for an area that hasn't gotten anything going.

Daven's advice is right on. Get an arf and get the feel for it...then build something better after you have flown the arf
a bunch.

After flying a Viper I am now flying a Racer II and building a Seeker. No comparison, the Racer II is much smoother & better flying- but I'm glad I started out flying and racing something I didn't put much time into.

Be careful- speed is addicting
