Has anyone flown this plane with Hitec 5945 on each elevator? I was wondering because I currently have 5945 (4) for ailerons and two 5955 for rudder. Also I was wondering about battery setups. I currently have 3 2400 mah lithiums from TBM that I was planning on using. Two for redundant setup and one for ignition.

One other question about using matchboxes. I only have 9 channel reciever so using the matchboxes seems like my only option for the rudder servos and ailerons. If I use the Hitec programmer I need open ports to run the four ailerons and two rudder servos correct? Or would they hook up with Y harness after being programmed? Matchboxes just seem like less trouble.

Thanks,
Accaptain

i'm working on my 102 now and i'm using match boxes on the rudder and elevator only. on my first 102 i used a y-harnes on the ailerons and two channels on the reciever, it just takes a little time to adjust the linkage right so the servos don't fight on the wing. i am having trouble getting the elevators to work together so i'm using a match box on them.
my parts list so far
DA 100 with stock mufflers
8 JR 8611a's
JR 4735 on throttle
2 JR match boxes
sullivan smoke pump
3 Fromeco 2400's with regs
3 Fromeco Badger switches
true turn lightened spinner
menze 27-10 prop
also got a new JR 10x, man its a sweet radio i just have to learn how to use it.

if my batteries come in this week as planed i should be flying it this weekend. i'll let you know how it goes.

Accaptain,

As far as elevator servo experience with 5945, I let others to comment on. We recommend 8611 or similar servos! I personally think good servos make a big difference in flying performance.
Both Quique and I prefer match boxes.
Batteries you should be fine. Quique and I are using one 4000 Duralite Plus but your set up is just fine.
If you use match boxes, your 9 channel receiver is going to do the job.

Thank you,
Reza

I am using Smart-Fly Equalizers on my ailerons and rudder with my build. I'm going to do the same thing as I did with my 50cc in that with the elevator I'll just set them up with a mix in the radio. If it becomes problematic I'll order another equalizer.

Ok, Thanks, I will run matchboxes. Does anyone have flying experience with the 5945 per each elevator?

Thanks

Guys,

I can't upload a .pdf file here. I will email you the .pdf version of the DA100 template. Please let me know who wants it with your email address. BTW, I haven't tested it on my plane yet but I will soon. Make sure once you marked the holes, you double check the measurements before drilling.

Thank you,
Reza

Interesting, the prep work on mine is unbelievable. The surfaces are so smooth that you can't tell there is wood underneath. My wings also fit well and very right into the fuselage.
I also checked my stab. Not any flex whatsoever. No twist, no flex, nothing.

Yak54Flyer,

Also please PM me your friends name and when he bought it and I will contact him personally to find out about his problems. I'll look forward to hearing from you.If he has not bought it direct, have him either call us or let me have his phone number to call him.

Thank you,
Reza

P.S your post has been deleted until I can verify the problems. It seems to me your friend can speak for himself or address the issues. Also out of all the posts you have made on RCU, it seems you are favoring only one company, hopefully I'm wrong. No further posts on my forum is allowed until I verify your friends problems if they exist!

P.S This post was in reply to Yak54Flyer that has been removed from our forums. It turned out it was a fake ID made by another company to bash others products. Please no more follow up on this!

Rezagh, I see there will be a new covering design on the new 86"er, will there be any changes to the 102 design in the future?
Thanks,
Lee

Hi Lee,

The 86" scheme will be different but the 102" will stay the same.

Thank you,
Reza

i maidened my 2nd gen II yak yesterday and flew it again today. burnt 4 gal of break in full through the new DA100 and she is coming alive. this one flys even better than the first one. i didn't use the SWB self adjusting rudder tray this time and used 2 2400 pack in place of the 2 4800 packs like i have in the first 102 i built. the plane came in at just under 26.5 lbs that a little over a pound less than the 1st one, and man that make a big differance. this plane even makes me look like i know what i'm doing and that take alot. lol

i would like to thank QQ,Wayne, Molly, and reza for there help and support. i had a few quistions and small problems and they came through for me like the champs they are. i have said it before but if anyone reading this is thinking about a new plane this is the one you should buy and the company we all should do bussiness with. i wish all companys in the RC world would step up to this level of customer service.

thanks again

Thanks Mike

Ok, I installed the screws for my elevators today. I used the ones from the dubro heavy duty control horn package. I epoxied them in and cut the head off. They did not come through the other side of the covering on the other side but were flush underneath as stated in the manual. Then I cut the head off right at the top, leaving the maximum amount of threads.

Ok, further reading of the manual states I need 1" of the screw sticking out. With the supplied screws, its about 1/2" to 3/4" of an inch. Were we supposed to change those screws out too? The only mention I saw of using different screws was for the ailerons (4 8x32 x 3" screws) as the ones supplied are not long enough.

To get full bevel to bevel throw, I have to have the control horn just barely threaded onto the screw otherwise it hits the horizontal stab.

I'll deal with it though and use less throw

Just wanted to bring this up in case anyone else had the same problem.

Shakes,

Your control horn should be at 1.25" from the hinge line. I think you should be able to get that. I'll check mine and let you know if you were supposed to have a longer screw or not.

Thanks,
Reza
