Hi dbrford,

Manual is done. Quique will review it next and I'll make it available by the end of the week.

Meanwhile, please let me know if you have any questions.

Just flew my 102" last night. Its brilliant. To me it flew much better than both the Krill 39% katana and the 40% fiberclassics giles.

All in all i am very pleased! I was going to complain about problems with the terrible canopy mounting, but all issues just disappeared as soon as i flew it.

Hats off to quique who has clearly put a huge amount of work into the design!

Luke,

Thank you for your compliments on the plane. Flew mine on Friday and Saturday and loved it!

25 lbs would be great if all of them wieghted that.
With a 3w 106 what would be needed to get at 25 lbs?
THanks

New Gen Yaks will weigh below 26 1/2lbs with regular muffler, DA100 and one battery for receiver. 3W 106 is not much heavier than DA100! Mine weighs right below 26lbs with DA100, Li-ion batteries, Mejlik spinner and NX 27x10. Mine is GenII yak. The white versions are about 1lb lighter because the landing gear is the original design and Rudder has a slightly different construction. The vertical on my plane with a brand new engine and 27x10 prop is INSANE. I can pull out of a hover, straight up with a very acceptable speed.

What about adding carbon gear, wing tube and stab tube or do they come with it?

They come with CF wing tube, stab tube, tail wheel assembly and rudder servo control horn.
The main gear is not CF, but I made the mistake of putting it on my 85", it was too stiff for the airframe. The 102" Gen II may be different - it looks a lot beefier in the gear area.
Also, each pushrod is titanium, super light and super strong.

Well Gents,

The man in the brown truck dropped one off for me today...the Gen II 102' QQ Yak. My thoughts are simple. Wow! Really Nice Job!

I can tell you so far the the build quality and materials seem top notch. I've been building for 20 years and I know what good, strong building looks like. THis is it!
The covering is 1st class and I really mean 1st class. I realize it's an ARF and many of you have probably never owned anything BUT an ARF. Well, the quality of the build is here is professional and much better than most or all other ARFs...I don't see this puppy faling apart unless the ground gets involved. So far, I'm very pleased with all that I have looked spcifically at...wings and wing tube are solid and properly glued, the firewall is also properly done as is the landing plate. Very, very pleased with my choice

So...if you are on the fence with this Yak....get off and buy it. This GEN II ship looks like it's going to be a solid winner!

I have a 33% am yak thats a blast with a 3w 80cs at 23 lbs.
The qq yak is about the same wing load and should be a great flying plane.

tgrick is right this is a great airplane. i have around 40 flights on my 2nd one and i like it better every time i fly it.

the gear on the Gen II is great, alot better than the first ones. they are light and strong but have enough flex to save the airframe. there is no need for high priced carbon fiber on this plane. save your $$ and buy some fuel you will need it.

I am hoping to have mine done by next weekend. I haven't been able to spend much time on it this week but it goes together very easily! Probably the easiest ARF I've put together (with the exception of the canister installation but that wasn't bad at all - just some more steps).

I know how my 85" flies and this thing is probably gonna fly like a dream!

rgrick, keep us posted on the progress and a maiden report!

shakes, a friend i fly with has the 85 and i let him fly my 102 this week. two days later he had a 102" yak, he couldn't beleive the differance in the two planes. its true that bigger is better in most things at least in model airplanes we can go bigger. haha
i'm looking for the 37% QQ yak hope it's here soon.

Randy, don't put ideas in my head about a 37.5% Yak That's how I ended up with a 102" haha. Someone jokingly said "That 102 will fit in your Explorer no problem". 3 months later one is sitting on the doorstep.

Stab Screws
Anyone know the size screw used for the stab? I'd like to replace them with a socket head cap screw. I know for a fact, one day, I'll go to put them on and the blind nut will fall out. So, if I can put as little pressure on the top as possible I'd feel better about it.
