This is an AWESOME picture and quality. Could I ask you to post it on this thread also http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4441824/tm.htm
That picture looks like a poster.

P.S if your friend doesn't have proper baffling, tell him to open up the bottom rectangular area. That engine would get really hot when 3Ding without enough openning to let the air out or proper baffling. I honestly think even if that plane is baffled the outlet area is not as large as it should be.

Thanks for the pic again,
Reza

Hi Reza,

I posted this question before but did not get a response. Is it necessary to close off the cannister tunnel on the 102" when using standard mufflers? Are there any pressure issues created in the cowl if this area is left open?

Should be ready for maiden this Sunday. I just have a few issues to button up. I'll post some pics this weekend.

Thank you for revising the manual, its a big improvement.

Doug

Hi Doug,

Do not close the canister tunnel. Leave it open. I left mine open to help cooling the engine and it's working. No pressure issues that is of a concern. A little on inverted but not much to need a plate or attention. Basically you need to increase the throttle just a tad on inverted flight because it sounds a little richer and that's only if you are half or below half throttle, higher speed is just fine. I'm sorry, I didn't see your question before. Maybe we should open a thread on this so it would be easier for everyone to see the answer.

Good Luck on your maiden.

Reza Gh.

Hi Chris,

Go back to the QQ forum index which list all the QQ threads and then click on "New Post".

You can then enter the subject and write your post.

Cheers
Jason.

Hi guys,
All of you that are removing your stabs for transport - are you using loctite on the screws when you reattach them to the fuselage for flight or are they holding up fine and not vibrating out without anything?

Hi Shakes,

Don't use loctite. Didn't you get my email? Apparently when I reply to PM from my email account, you guys don't receive it.
I'll email you again.

Reza

Reza, that is correct. If you look at the reply address it is "blackhole@rcuniverse.com", which means it just goes off into space and gets deleted at some point. So, nope - didn't get your email

OK so why are you saying not to use loctite? The 4mm screw and washer will definitely vibrate out without some type of split washer, neoprene backed washer, or loctite.
I only ask this because I drowned my screws in loctite and installed them last night. :-)

Doug,

Mine never did vibrate out. Now it's a good idea to use neoprene washers. For those who want to remove the stab for transportation, I don't recommend loctite because it can in some cases strip the blind nut or damage the threads on the screw or even stripping the phillips head unless you are using socket cap screw. I would hate personally to redo the blind nuts If you won't be constantly taking it off and putting it back on, using loctite is not problem, otherwise neoprene wahsers are great!

Thank you,
Reza

I'm done with the plane except for setting up the throws. I was wondering what everyone's measurements were on hinge line control horn (basically how far the control horns are screwed onto the screw) for elevators and ailerons.

Plane looks amazing and the butterflies are setting in

That's Great Shakes.

Elevator pivot point on the control horn should be 1.25" from the hing line. Aileron 1.7" if you used 1.5" arm. You can set it at 1.5" but then you need to make sure your max throw is not more than 40-45 degrees.

Flight report!

Reza
