Hey Reza, I am matching my elevator servos and notice that with both elevator halves at center. Counter balance centers fine on both surfaces but when you go to the rear of the plane one side is higher than the other visually. I now have the throws matched on both but the centering from the rear of the plane, one side is a higher. Now the counter balance on both surfaces line up and center but the rear doesn't which leads me to believe the hinge slots are off on one side causing the whole surface to be higher. Will this make a huge difference when trying to fly straight and level? Do you think the one side being slightly higher at netural from the rear is going to make it try and roll that way? It looks like the only way to fix it would be to replace both halves for a set that the hinge slots lined up on. If I do line them up at the rear the counter balance are not centered.

Hi Accaptain,

No that won't cause any problem. Matching the control surfaces is all you need to do and you've already done it. You won't feel anything abnormal in the air. Keep me posted once you maidened the plane.

Thank you,
Reza

I will, I think this may be the only plane that I have been nervous about the maiden! I like it a lot!!

When you stated to only glue the rear stab tube if you see a problem after flying it. Do you mean that it may move up or down or left or right? I thought the bolts would keep it tight against the fuse?

Thanks, Maiden looks like next week after work. I am out of town this weekend.
I'll try to video it.

It is tight, I haven't seen a need to glue it yet, only if you ntoiced a play, up and down.

Wish you the best on your maiden and don't be nervous, it will behave well.

Thank you,
Reza

ACCAPTAIN,

If you can fly a trainer, the QQ 102 is easier. Don't feel nervous, nothing flies as easy as this one. NOTHING! Have fun on the maiden next week.

I'm sure it will, bigger fly's better! I'm not really concerned about me so much as I am something failing in the airplane. I will feel better once the maiden is over with.

Hey Reza, How will the plane fly at the 9" cg mark? I think mine is coming out closer to the 9" than the 8 1/2. My wife was trying to help me but was having trouble lifting it with her finger. She says (it's too heavy), anyways just wondering how many people have flown there's at 9" from TE. I noticed in the manual you say to fly it at 8 1/2 then move back to 8 once more comfortable with it. So should I move it back to 8" later on or will it 3D and precision just as well at 8 1/2?

Once more question, is the 3 3/4 inches (high rate) aileron throws enough for 3D? It just doesn't look like much throw when I deflect the ailerons. I have all surfaces setup per the manual's high rate settings.

Hey Accaptain,

I'd like you to balance it at 8 1/2" to 8 3/4". You won't beleive those ailerons, they are huge and effective. If you are setting it up based on manual rates, make sure that you use recommended expo for Ailerons because on low rates, aileron is still touchy but needed for proper flying.

BTW, you're wife is right! Lifting a plane that big with one finger is not easy!

Thank you,
Reza

Ok , will do I will dbl check the cg and move the stuff around to obtain this. I will probably have to shift one or both receiver batteries back. I will take your word on the ailerons, I always use a lot of expo anyhow. Kind of crazy but I flew my old Funtana 40 with like 90% expo on everything at high rates. The ailerons on that sucker were really quick and amazing!

HobDean, were you at the recent Shreveport IMAC contest? If so, which class did you fly in?

Hi There,

Yes, I think it will be also available in white. I will double check with Quique and Wayne on this and get back with you. I think the next batch will have white only version.

Thank you,
