I've purchased the Ziroli 101" B25 and am wondering about a kit cutter. I've seen prices from $200 for a short kit to $300 & $450 for a full kit. Any advise as to quality would be appreciated. I don't think I'd want to spend the time to hand cut the materials. Thanks.

two most popular, Aeroplane Works and Precision Cut Kits. the first company hand cuts and the other laser cuts. Both excellent quality and you will find lots of threads and posts on both companys. If you contact them, either by email or phone they will talk to you and answer any questions you have.

I don't have the the B25 kit, but I do have the P61 kit cut by The Aeroplane works, very satisfied with the quality of the wood and the fit of the parts. You will get alot of opinions about this, just my $.02, the debate will be between laser cut and hand cut. Try someone like The Aeroplane Works and I believe you will be happy, if for no other reason I believe they really stand behind their product. Best of luck.

mikejdad:

I emailed The Aeroplane Works, Precision Cut Kits, and American Kit Cutters for a price quote on a kit I was interested in building. I received a reply from Mace at The Aeroplane Works within a couple of hours. It took Precision about three weeks to reply and I never did get a reply from American. If you call, you may get faster service, but I feel that email should be answered within 48 hours. Unfortunately, Mace did not cut the kit I wanted to build, but because of Mace's great customer service, I will not hesitate to purchase a kit from him that he does cut. Mace also has a great warranty program that I think is second to none.

Thanks guys I'll give them a call. While in Vegas to see the TOC we learned about a giant scale flyin near Boulder City and we went there on Saturday while the were doing the known & unknown sequences. A fellow from Okla. City had the 101" B25 and I felt it was sweet. He was using G23 but I didn't get to see it fly as they were wrapping up the fly-in. Anyone have success with the G23?

Mike....Just finished up a "Z" B-25..... 102" and I had Aeroplane Works cut out the kit for me....I had no problems that I can think of....quality was excelllent and wood selection was good.....unfortunately when we ran the engines the other day #1 engine didn't run very well, I bought this G-38 from someone on this forum that was so-called "Brand-New".....the engine ran like a horses A** and found the crank was out by .028(bent)...having it straightened by a friend and thats all thats keeping me from test flying.......as you can imagine...not a happy camper either.......the weather is "perfect" down here right now......Bill.....

The 101" plane flys great with G23's. I use Graupner 3 blade 15/8 props and although it is not a speed demon, it is very reliable. Here is a pic. Note: the white object below the fuse is a video camera. Had some great movies!
