I'm starting another Cuda...I know, I didn't finish the first one yet. This one is for a friend.
I built mine for a rudder servo mounted in the tail. Has anyone put one up in the fuse with a pull pull ?
We're putting a DA50 with an MTW canister up front.

I may be wrong but I believe the first few Cuda's were built with a pull pull but then guys started putting them in the tail.

any thoughts would be appreciated.

Steve,

Since you're going to run a canister, I'd probably put the rudder servo in the tail.

My cuda has a DA50 with a pitts muffler...and I also mounted the rudder servo in the tail. I had to mount the rx batts beside the fuel tank to get the CG 1/4" behind the plans. I would think with the little extra weight of a can, the CG would be spot-on. So far with about 8 flights, the CG seems just fine to me....maybe a touch tail-heavy....but hey! It's a 3D plane!

Direct rudder linkage IMO is just easier to set up....no cables to tinker with. You might as well frame up a mount in the tail while you're building the fuse sides.....easier to do it now than after the fuse is finished. If you decide not to use it, just cover over it and you'll never know it's there.
