Haha I think you're crazy if you do.

Like some others have mentioned stick one of those O.S. .18 engines on there if you really wanna upgrade. From what i've heard they're really really good and it's a direct bolton. It'll be probably more than enough power for a 1/10 roadcar. Then you could work on finding or making yourself some carbon fiber parts to make the car even lighter. I think that's the way to go.
You just have to remember the gears are gonna strip faster, dogbones are gonna bend, and all sorts of chaos would ensue with a .27. And that's even if you get it to fit and line up right.

But i mean who am i kidding. I'd love to see one on there just to see if it'd work. So aslong as it's not my wallet go for

I've got no reason NOT to, i've got access to all the parts

for a NORMAL person, however, the .18CVR will be more than enough power you may want to switch to a single speed and an 18t clutchbell though so you don't tear anything up

Well not if you upgrade to one of those HPI racing clutch bells
It's just a matter of fortifying the weak spots... haha

I've had some high-dollar cars in my day dude...and in all honesty, for my purposes, the Lightning is just as good as any of 'em.

Besides, I've got gigantic piles upon piles of parts just layin around:P

Plus...it'd cost just as much to fortify a Serpent 710's weak spots for a big block as it would a Lightning...and the Lightning is a lot cheaper

well i guess if youve got all those parts layin around more power to ya i cant justify puttin a 200 dollar motor into a 180 dollar car that really doesnt make sense but if all my parts were free i would go buck wild and make whatever i possibly could out of whatever i had
have fun let us know how it holds up in my opinion it wont unless you replace entire drivetrain with something better
dogboes are going to twist from torque and in and on and on
but let us know
later
