I have an 1800mah battery pack and would like to know if anyone can help with the charging of it. I currently have a Digipace I which has 50 and 120 ma charging and also the Trickle charge upgrade. I understand the C/10 would = a charge rate of 180ma on an overnight charge. Will my Digipace set at a charge rate of 120 ma charge my 1800 mah battery to its full capacity? If so how many hours would it take. I have my original Digipace manual however it is hard for me to understand. Thanks

It will do the job in about 24 hrs or so if the batt is dead. Hopefully the voltage and such is within specs also.

Thanks for the info. Battery is new. Could you shed some light as to calculating the number of hours?
Thanks again.

We use 140% input for a fully discharged pack and this gives lots of safety factor. In reality for a good pack you can input 120% for one that is fully discharged, at least as fully as we do in flying them.

Then it follows that 1800 mAh times 1.2 = 2160 mAh requried. Divide this by your charge rate 2160/120 and you come up with 18 hours.

Red, does that mean that I would have to charge my 1800 mAh pack for 43 hours, with a 50 mAh charger?

Thanks,
John

As the ratio goes down, the multiplier percentage has to go up. That's why I came up with 24 hrs. I had thrown some type of formula together a while back, but never got any input or criticism about it. Maybe Red has a formula.

According to my calc and formula it will take over 60 hrs, Red know possibly if there's a rate that can be left on forever,,,, like a c/60 or c/100 something like that.
