Yes you read right LOL
My 28% Edge has the 3w75 on it. Lemme tell ya tons of power and a dream to fly. Now I don't recommend anyone doing what I did, and I know Tom doesn't at all. I got the engine for a good price and was looking for a home for it when I buddy told me to put it in the edge. Landings slow and predecitable with out standing verticle climb. Turned out to be a good combo on the plane and with good throttle mangement flew no different then my extra with a 60 on it. Ive got a 24x8x14 prop on the 75, fixing to order a 26x10 for it and see how it does.

Has plenty of ground clearance with the 24x8x14 the lg sit kinda high already and this the stock lg. When I mounted the engine to the fire wall, I cut a cpl of peice of angle iron for extra support and put them on the inside of the engine box to help keep everything together plus help with engine vibration. I'll get some pics of it with out the cowl on and next time I fly I'll see if I can get some inflight pics.
I did some checking and found the 75Ius is about 8oz lighter then the 3w60I this based on information I found on 3w's website.

I have flown this plane and it flew really well, Knife edge horizon to horizon an 1/2 throttle and it lands like a dream.

I've got the same edge and plan to do the same with a 3w 70us, just hopeing every thing will fit in the cowl,I wouldn't mind if the engine head protrudes a little out of the cowl as long as every thing else fits inside, would love to see some pics of you'r edge MARSHALLCOWBOY. hey what size standoffs did you use where did you get the standoffs from any how?

I didn't use any standoffs, I cut a few peices of wood and glued then together to get the distance I needed for the engine to mount just past the cowl once in place. I also put a cpl of 2"x2" 1/16" aluminum angle iron on the inside of the engine box to help the box stay stronger due to the extra vibration of the larger engine. I did have to make a cpl of holes in the side of the cowl for the carb needles and the bottom corner of the carb to stick out since the 75Ius as the side mounted carb on it.

Ok so what your saying is that the carb. tend's to protrud out of the cowl a bit? well I just orderd my 3W 75ius the other day for my EDGE, did you do any reenforesing to the fire wall I imagine you should have the 3w 75 is kinda heavy, but ohhhh boy I do love that over power better over powered than under powered I hate weak planes.can you send me some pic's to see how you'rs look like? and how did it balance out with all the servo's in the rear or what did you need to add any lead to it?

No lead in the tail at all. It does have the elevator and rudder servos in the tail and balanced rt in the cg range. I will try and get some pics as soon as I can, been very busy and haven't had a chance here as of lately.

MARSHALLCOWBOY I pulled out my edge from the closet as soon as I got my 75us from aircraft int. , and it seem's that I need just about 2" clearance from the engine box.I called aircraft int. and the guy's there said that I would need an engine plate that they sell and some 2"standoff's.can you briffly explian to me how did you do you edge? and if any picture's would help alot when ever you get a chance to post them.
