Hey Guys, the new Fusions are at the OMP headquarters and the first batch have been sent out to all the backorders. I have the first one in my shop going together right now and I got to tell you they are beautiful. I'm hoping to have it together by this week end. I have been really busy with a lot of other projects right now but I had to stop everything and start putting this one together as soon as I got my hands on it. For you guys that are getting one, you are going to love it. The covering job is excellant and the overall construction is the best I've seen so far. Good luck to all you new Fusion owners and for those who don't have one yet, you need to order one NOW. I have been flying my kit built Fusion for over a month now and I got to tell you it is one of the best planes I've ever flown. It does everything you want it to do and more with fantastic stability. This is the beginning of FUSION NATION. Be ready for it. Got to go for now. John M.

Good report John, thanks!

Have you also flown the Katana and do you like the Fusion better, or just differently? They are not answering my email at OMP and I need to know if my LHS can order the Fusion, or if I have to order it directly from OMP and pay shipping....?

Thanks,

Ernie

Here are a couple threads that compare the Kat 70, Yak 65 and Fusion. See posts #6 and #8 in the first thread. The Kat and Yak are full-on 3D planes, very high lift, and the Fusion is a Freestyle plane, with pattern and 3D capabilities.

Regarding email, Mike is on vacation in Florida and my guess John is shipping Fusions.

I'm pretty sure you have to order the Fusion directly from OMP. Very eager to see the 52" on my doorstep.

Hey Ernie, Not sure what email you are using but I'm not seeing anything on our side?? The three emails that work are: mp@ohiomodelplanes.com">omp@ohiomodelplanes.com, mike@teamomp.org and steve@teamomp.org
There have been a bunch of changes going on as of late so it may have got lost in the shuffle, Sorry if so. Of course the fastest way to get a Fusion is to order direct, but if you would like your LHS to order for you please have them contact the daytime sales # (937)-429-3056 M/F 10:00 to 5:00 or get in touch with me (steve@teamomp.org) and we can get them set up as a dealer.
Performance wise, I don't think you can compare these two birds apples to apples they both fly GREAT! The Fusion is a very crisp true machine with zero bad habits to it. Flys like a pattern ship but can still get down and dirty when you want it to. It is rock solid in anything you throw at it.

Thanks loads for the info. It was the last two of those email addresses that I used this week.....

I'll see if my LHS wants to become a dealer if they aren't already. You said all the right things about the Fusion! I'm in!

Ernie,
You won't regret the Fusion. I have had mine since November and it is the most flown profile in my fleet. I am running and OS .91 FX with a 15 x 4 W APC. Digital servo's all around and it is awesome.

Thanks Dale. Tell us about that nice covering job on your Fusion.... I don't think the ARF's were out yet then. I hope my smaller version will perfom similar to your 90!

I recieved mine and im pretty happy with it but.. what type of covering is this it isnt ultracoat it doesnt act like ultra coat / ora cover or monocoat

What are the instuctions for working with this type of covering i think this is what some call china coat and i think i read some where that you cant treat it like ultra/ora.

i cant wait to fly this plane its lookin sweet i already have my first mistake in the assembly accidently glued the front anti rotaion dowel in one wing so it will stay there and come out with the wing hehe

gonna do an all day build day when i wake up and fly this plane sunday or monday

Covering is Chinese version very silmilar to Ultracoat. We looked at many covering samples and this is the same covering used on most top brand ARFs you see these days. The days of the old china crap covering are gone. Colors match Ultracoat as I've checked them out. So this means you can get patch material at your LHS.
