Hey I just broke in my Terror the other day. It seems like a decent truck. I have the LSN set at like a half turn in from stock and the HSN at 3 1/2 turns. The engine seems to be freeing up a lot. The only problems i've had is some overheating and the servo for the wheels crapped out. One of the pins that hold in the servo gears warped the plastic on the head of the servo. I fixed it with some epoxy and a little longer pin. Has anyone checked out the supercharger for this thing by RB Innovations?

I saw that and had to laugh. I'm sure they work and all, but they're so tiny. As a 'car guy' I've had cars with superchargers and that thing looks exactly like a centrifugal supercharger that I had on a Mustang, except smaller (I guess that's essentially what it is). If they really generate any sort of boost, I wonder how difficult it is to tune the carb? All of my forced induction (real) cars have been EFI so the A/F ratio is electronically controlled. I can't imagine trying to tune a carb with forced induction, especially these tempermental little 2-cycle deals.

I'd be REALLY impressed if someone came up with a turbo, and associated exhaust plumbing, for one.

Well.....still more snow. And still waiting on Hobby Services to diagnose & repair my engine.
In my boredom, I used the $20 gift certificate that came with this to buy a set of wheels and Pro-Line Road Rage tires (I'll be able to drive on the pavement and save my off-road tires). Should be here in a few days.

I bet the tires make it here before my engine does.

Think maybe I'll change the color scheme of my Terror MT and paint the body.

I've noticed that Tower has an electric starting system for this:

Does anyone have this? If so, how does it work? Pictures?

I'm not sure that the temperamental 2strokes would be happy with the exhaust back pressure that would create
but iduno, haven't dealt with them much

Thought I better put my 2 cents worth in this forum. To answer a couple of questions, the 6 volt hump back battery packs fit and work fine. As for removing the tires I just pushed on them and with some minor effort they will roll right off the rims, no need to cook or boil, at least not with mine. As for getting the tires off the axle that's another story, the wheel nuts were on so tight, it will strip out the less than quality wrench they give you. it is a 2 man job, one to hold the truck while the other one uses a breaker bar to try and remove these, once removed you will notice, they have already begone to strip out on the axle. I would suggest to all, dont bother putting foam inserts in these tires, go with the upgrade to 23mm. with new wheels and tires, I know mo money. But as we all know this is not a cheap man's hobby. thank you, and goodnight.

hey all new to this forum and the tower terror. i was able to get all my foams in without removing the tires from the truck, it looks like others are having problems getting them off the truck also. does anyone know what size the shaft behind the pull start is? i think its 6mm. thanks

I already stripped one of the wheel hubs and nuts. It sucks because I don't have the right die and tap size. I think I will either upgrade to 23mm hubs or replace the 17mm. If I get the 23mm hubs I'll probably go with Proline Moab Tires and one of their 40 series wheels. Oh yeah those nuts are 3/4" they could be metric but a 3/4" works.

To get the wheel nuts off the axles and not strip them I used the old trick of heating them with a mini torch to break the glue bond the manufacturer had put them on with (red loctite?) The wheel combo I find that works pretty well are the Ofna Jammin 17mm wheels (86104), 17mm buggy axle hubs (30051), foam donuts (81101) and Tower Terror tires.

Mine doesn't, but I really haven't been listening for it either. I only have one functioning differential, too.

My new wheelie bar arrived on Friday - it makes a HUGE difference in being able to drive it around. We ran it until the one of the wheels fell off it yesterday. So I obviously haven't had any trouble with getting the nuts off the axles.

The throttle is lazy for some reason - I'm thinking it's the batteries. Still steers okay, though, which is odd because usually the steering goes first.

EDIT: The problem with the throttle is that the servo is too weak to open it up. Even after changing batteries it's lethargic and won't open the throttle all the way. I took it apart to make sure it's centered and it is. If I unhook the throttle return spring on the carb the servo opens and closes it just fine, but with the resistance of the spring hooked up it won't work. I'm going to try a Futaba servo out of one of my boats to see if that fixes it.

no pics yet... but it uses 3 allen head bolts to replace the pull crank with a pinion and spur setup, btw its a wand starter to it is not adding that much wright
ill post some picks a lil later

with the installation it was a tough fit to get the exhaust manifold back in place, the gasket was trying to bunch up, also the attachment screws were a little misaligned had to remove the assembly and install the manifold

Well I'm getting a little PO'd at this stuff. First, I bought 3 new glow plugs from Tower @ $3.50 each. All 3 failed after one use. My brother loaned me one he dug out of the bottom of his toolbox. Then the wheelie bar snapped off...again. Broke in the same spot as last time. This time I was on dirt and it rolled. This is definitely a weak spot on this truck. You can't just buy the broken part, you have to buy the wheelie bar 'kit' for $13 a pop.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that swapping the Tower servo out with a Futaba from one of my boats fixed the throttle problem. The Tower servo is no good. Apparently the throttle was not opening all the way. The thing FLIES now, which is how I broke another wheelie bar. I still think that the bar is kind of weak. It should put up with more abuse.
