I'm thinking that it is. If it's not open enough, it could be restricting fuel from the hsn at higher rpm's. It's at least worth a check.

Well, the engine is off to Hobby Services. Hopefully, they can fix whatever problem it had.
Now, to wait for a few days..................

Yes, I tried everything....including a new glow plug. Glow plug was brand new and glow starter was fully charged. Same problem = dies under throttle.
I'm thinking maybe there was something wrong with the carburator. Maybe one of those little o-rings on the needles....maybe they went bad. Or, maybe whoever the genuis is who built my truck screwed up the needles so badly I couldn't get them right. Considering the way my truck was built, it wouldn't surprise me.
Anyway, Hobby Services should get my engine in a day or two. I hope they can diagnose and fix whatever it is.
There's a HUGE snowstorm here right now, so even if my engine was running, I couldn't go out to drive.

This .25 engine looks identical to the .21 Vertex found on the Redcat 1/8th buggy. I had identical tuning problems...

Then I discovered my 21 engine came with a split o-ring on the midrange adjustment (the smaller inner o-ring) . Replacing this cured all the problems.

Anyone know the bore and stroke of this engine? I'm wondering if the piston and sleeve will fit the Vertex 21...

may be a bit late, but did you seal the motor? ie, carb base, back plate, etc? trevbarts split o-ring sounds like a good thing to check out. so has anybody got enough time on one of these trucks to see if they hold up to some abuse? i started out with warheads, but have since switched to revos[which i love]. but i have some friends that could afford one of these terrors.

No, I didn't think about sealing the engine. I guess I should've tried it, huh?
A few years ago, I owned an HPI RS4 Racer, with the OS .12 CV engine. I sealed the engine, and the thing worked great. It flew !!
We'll see what the diagnosis is when I get the engine back in a few days. A big snowstorm is over Denver, so it's not like I can drive right now anyway.

As for this truck holding up to abuse, I'm not too sure yet. The truck has a 90 day warranty on it, so I guess if you break anything, it can be replaced.
There is no slipper on the drive train, so it might take some abuse when landing from a jump. I'm impressed with the shocks. Lots of travel, and consistent throughout.

If anyone needs pictures of the Tower Terror MT, let me know. I'll be glad to post.

Hello! I just received my Tower Terror and plan to break it in this weekend (weather permitting). It's my first R/C car/truck. I've been goofing around with electric boats for a while, but really just to amuse my kids. This is my first nitro a
