when I had the 40 series on mine, I had to use an RC prop balancer and the lid from a squeeze bottle of mustard. Once you find the heavy side you ad weight until they level out. After I got close, I spun them on the chuck of my cordless drill, recheck on the balancer until they spin without any wobble. I used lead pencil weights used for steelhead fishing and hot glued them on the inside. I ended up selling them on ebay to a guy in Italy for 40. 00. I was in over a 100.00 for the Cheyenne, and Moab 2's. My loss was definetly his gain. Balancing these is a pain, but I used to mount tires when I was in high school, so I knew basically how to bubble balance a tire. Same principal. Dave

I ordered a Savage XL, but it has not arrived. I am hoping the engine is all they claim it to be, but I am not so sure about the rpm ranges they are claiming. They have been pretty liberal in their HP and rpm estimations before. I think this Picco 26 is about as good of a match as I have found, obviously it needs a taller gear, but it has lots of rpm and power and that is on the stock pipe. I should slap an 086 on it and see what happens. I may try the 5.9 on the Terror just out of curiosity, but I think it will be all torque and not enough rpm. BB

The 23mm plastic wheel adaptors from Tower that allows proline 23 mm rims to be mounted to the Terror hubs finally started to strip out under power. I have changed the tires several times and each time they are put on and off the plastic gets a little looser. So...... I am back to the stock terror wheels and tires ( which actually work the best anyway, just don't look as good IMO).

The STS .28 had too much torqque and not enough rpm's so I put in a 16 tooth Robinson Racing clutch bell, made for the Savage. Fit is perfect, and puts the big gear almost in the center of the clutch gear. Performance is up and clutch heat is up. I really need to get to a more open area, so it can do more than just start out all the time.

The STS is not quite the engine the Collari .32 was and does not pull the 16 tooth gear quite as well, so I think the perfect choice is a 15 tooth, which I hope to get very soon.

I am an old man with slow reflexes, but I can get easily a 40 foot wheelie up the street, and if there was more safe room I know I could do more. So, for me, am doing good. The Grandsons are coming over tomorrow, so I expect the Terror to get a good workout and be in need of repairs at the end of the day. Grandsons drive RC trucks like a video game. No consequences.

Looking forward to new videos from BB.

Later, Dennis

Well I tore up a gear in the rear diff. got a rock stuck on that side axle and ripped all the teeth off the planetary gear. I guess I need to stop running it in my driveway so much. yhe parts are on the way so I can get some more tuning on the new engine. What kind of lube does anyone use in the diff.

What is the factory setting for the mid-end screw? You know, the "mystery screw" that the manual doesn't mention. I accidently turned it and now my engine won't run. Whenever I go to full throttle it will rev up and down and just barely accelerate. Someone please help!!!

I think that midrange needle should be set flush with the housing; the high speed needle was 3 turns out from closed as I recall and the low speed was 3 turns or 3.5 turns out from closed. It has been a long time, I will go see if one of my manuals will tell me. Aleknocker? You are the 25 king! What makes it go? BB

I got the engine running but now whenever I accelerate it will bog down and stall. Which needle should I adjust to solve this problem, or should I just seal the engine? It's no fun having a monster truck with a top speed of about 10mph!!

It could be either needle and it could be either way, too lean or too rich. Sealing would be a positive step!

Do like I did and watch that video and compare it to what you are experiencing. The video is great! BB

Sorry I never got the pics on. Here are a few...Like the custom front bumper!? I figured I'm new so I'd make my own because I'd need many of them!

As long as it keeps the hinge pins in, that is really all you need. I have been going to approach my buddy with all the CNC machines and see if he will set up to make an aluminum one. If I can make a really clean looking design, maybe I could sell a few. .... probably never enough to pay for the set up fees. BB

What is the saying..."necessity drives design"? That was my problem. I completely and very explosively destroyed the front bumper...and next thing you know, my A-arm was on the ground. Lost the pin, and bought a new rod from Lowes...then I realized why I had lost the pin! A few countersunk holes, and a couple screws and I was back in business!
