I got some pictures today.

This ultimate is set up with the following items:

Brillelli 26cc engine
Hitec HS5625's on all control surfaces
HS225MG on throttle
Smart-fly regulator and switches
Fromeco Relion batteries

I swapped all the hardware for quality DuBro hardware.

cje how does it fly 3d with that engine. Did you have to add any weight. I have a OS 160 in mine and that has tons of power but I like to convert all my planes to gas.

Well, I didn't have a chance to wring it out yet, but it has plenty of power for any thing you want to throw at it. It is lacking in pull out from a hover though. Not to say it's bad. I just like a little more pull.

I didn't have to add any weight to it weight. but the CG from the manual is still a little nose heavy for my taste. I'll be playing with getting the CG back a little the next time out.

been quite here on the ulitmate. This has turn out to be one of my favariote birds to fly. I hate taken the wings off so I have been leaving it in 1 piece which make it a much more easy pick when I am deceding on what plane to fly. Like it little more then my edge

I just bought my first gas plane, a Chip Hyde Cap X and i put a DA-50 in it but i also use merle hyde soft mounts on all of my engines after trying one, they are expensive but they also do as they say and are worth not loosing all the servo's and stress crack's that many have from the vibration, but most are from large engines, the Cap X call's for a 50'cc engine but only has a 74 inch wingspan but i have heard from many it is a great flying plane specially doing the harrier and hovering and the rolling circles and landing i hear is a breaze, i hope, Rollie

I have a Brillelli 25cc and was wondering if it would work for this plane. I lost my Goldberg Ultimate last year and really miss it. Thanks for posting the info with the 26cc as one of my club members told me I would be disapointed with that combo. I think he is wrong. Hopefully I can scrounge the funds to get one of these planes before they go out of stock again!

pilot727 I also have a CapX with an Os 160. Great power plant. I think the DA50 might be a little over kill. I know when I first got my CapX I also was looking at a DA50 but after speak with Chip he stated that was an expreiment, but did not recommend. It will do all the snap things you throw at it put likes to pull to gear in hover. However this ulimate is a great plane power this baby also with OS 160

A friend of ine told me he thought it was a little small for a DA-50 also, why would he say it was rated for a 50 size engine if it were not, although i have recieved many letters from RCU guys that did go with the 50cc engine and it flew great, it also says it comes with a soft mount and the mount that it comes with is not a soft mount, i wrote to merle and asked him why he would say that as people are going to think it is merles soft mount, merle told me they had thought about doing that but could not because each engine has to be measured for the cowl, some guys were mad and did not like the mount and i wrote them and told them it was not a soft mount, merle hyde is the father of the soft mount, he invented it, oh well patzane i already got the DA-50, i could put it on my cap 232 with 84 in wingspan, you read something from profesionals and you expect to get what has been said, it was also said to be hinged but it was not, but it is an easy plane to build, thanks for the info, rollie

I have a brand new Brillelli 36GT, and am thinking about this plane, yellow version of coarse.
What do you think????????
The 36gt is about a 18 X 10 @ 7700rpm.

That should haul it around just fine.

I am going to use the DA-50 on my cap 232 sport and on the cap x i am going to use my ys-160dz already broken in and runs like no other engine i have ever owned and it puts the cap sport out of sight in just seconds, a great engine and i know the cap x with the ys-160 will be a good pair, Rollie

To all,
How are these planes holding up? I have an os 160 needing a home and this may be just the ticket. I like the blue version that peak model has. I think its the same plane but not sure. Thanks in advance.
