i moddified mine tonight. i was thinking my rustler could loose some weight. so i cut off the tubs on the sides and took off the part that hold the servo. then mounted the servo to the chassy. lost alot of wieght. really good exceleration.

Not bad looking, I'm betting that lost quite a bit of weight for the ol' rusty.

Let us know how it holds up. If you have any trouble, check out the links posted earlier in the conversation, they show some nice methods for lightening the rusty while leaving it pretty well structurally intact.

guys, that not a very strong design. there becomes a point where you exceed the benefits of removing weight from the chassis

I think it is very strong chassis!
It has almost zero flex.
It is like a stampede chassis,but stronger.IMHO!
I have drove it hard and put it up wet and it still begs for more.

I was messing around with my Rustler a while back to try and improve it. I added titanium turnbuckles, stainless steel hinge pins, graphite tie bar, CVD's, Losi LXT graphite A-arms (Wide Pede Conversion), ultralight dish wheels and Proline tires.

I also moved the reciever and ESC as far foward on the chassis as possible to help with the on throttle pushing issue. I used Losi springs all the way around it. I had alot more planned, but I just never got around to it. Hows yours coming along?

This thread is getting pointless. Haven't you gotten your rustler anymore race ready? I wnat to see some pics and take it to the track to see how much better it is.

with the posts on the bottom of this page...it looks like bedtime for the CHILDREN.
i highly doubt the rigidity of those cut chassis'. maybe it doesnt flex too much for bashing, but performance concrete racing.....
and just for the record, i saw my name in a quote..trust me, i atleast can spell weak instead of week.
