Status: offline 		I have a bunch of RAF Hellcat pics that I referenced for the scheme plus added my initials so I would say not scale. I'd like to do a full scale version one day.
I hear ya on the LG.. I'm on my 3rd set now. Just waiting for some reliable proven electric retracts.

Lado's rotating are recommended, the H9 Corsair is the 3rd plane that carries them and they never gave me any trouble.

Note I have the original 2009 version made in Doug's garage with 4mm stud, the new ones made in France are supposed to be even better

Status: offline 		I can't seem to find Lado retracts on the Magnum RC page any more ... the RS333-RT's at $250/pr seem to be the right ones, although the mfg rates them at 7kg max load:

A 7kg rating really should be gracious plenty for a H9 Hellcat. That's 15.4 pounds and mine is under 9 lbs with retracts and an OS 90.

The ones you show in the picture are what are in my Hellcat and they're reliable. They'd be even better if they went 100degrees.

Yes, Wingspan does.

However, I bought the 1st design immediately after they came out. I've lost count how many times they've been replaced. The customer service is excellent, however, the product hasn't ever been.

When we hear from some users of the latest versions, I plan to trade my present ones for them if Wingspan will do that (and those users report satisfaction, that is). Until then I've done more than enough beta testing. Every installation failed, either immediately in the shop or the 1st time trying to fly.

Have you purchased the new design?

Status: offline 		No experience with the Wingspan line - other than what they were showing at Perry earlier this year. I have a set of 999 Lados for my 50cc Zero - very robust. Will have to ask Gus at Magnum RC if they're still dealers for the Lado line.

Status: offline 		So here is it pre-maiden. I wanted to take it out today but had too many little things left to do and did not want to rush it so maybe Tuesday. Ran a tank through it last night and everything held up. I will most likely go with a topflite 15/8 or 15/6 for the maiden, then switch to the 14/7 3blade once all the kinks, if any ( l hope ) are worked out. The weak link is the gear. It came out to 11lb. 2.1oz, so its a bit wobbly, will really have to glass the landings. Moving the servos to the back really helped out the balance, I didn't have to move the batteries as far back as I thought as you can see in the first pic, and its is a tad nose heavy at 5 1/4", but I would prefer that anyway. I also added more holes for cooling, and opened up a couple of larger ones. If its not enough I will just open them up more instead of adding more little ones, starting to look like a cheese grater.
I'll report back after the maiden, cross your fingers ( now Im off to clean my workshop after this "tornado" of a build... )

Ok, ....I dont see any vibration isolation for the rec. or batteries...? Wrap those things in foam...they should be able to withstand a crash without taking damage .

Thanks for the input. The receiver is a 2.4 so I rely on the two sided velcro to eliminate some of the vibration, but wrapping these receivers in foam tends to cook them. I used to wrap my fm's as the crystals were susceptible to vibration, but if I crash hard enough to brake an unwrapped 2.4 receiver, then if it was wrapped in foam it might be "just good enough" to fail in flight in a new air frame. Plus the danger of cooking one in flight is not worth it to me either . For the batteries, I go back and forth on wrapping those. Where these are mounted the cross brace will act like a "crumple zone", and the two sided velcro will also act to reduce vibration. They are A123 cells I made, so I would rather risk keeping their longevity by not overheating them anyway. Again, if I crack up hard enough to brake a pack, its cheaper to make a new one then have one fail in flight. I'm not saying its bad advice, and I do appreciate the input, but for me I like to go this way.
