I have made the $300.00 deposit and Morris Hobbies says it will be delivered by 15 Apr. 2003.
Can someone give me feed back on their timely delivery, quality of product and customer service? This is my first airplane from them but had to have the P-38.

Boy this sucks . I have been waiting on a nicely priced p-38 for ever . But this is not that one . For just a little more I will build the yellow aircraft . And I know that they are good flyers . It is ashamed because they would have been able to sell a lot of them for a resonable price . But I guess they thought it would be better to sell a few at a high price then to sell a lot at a lower price

This is my biggest complaint with most businesses. Instead of selling a lot of product at a reasonable price, they choose to sell a few at a high price, then stop production due to lack of interest..... Just another case of greed and close minded thinking.

Maybe we can all go by some crappy profile planes now!

I have seen many VQ Models and they are good quality..I know that the P-38 will be nice and be a great product...BUT DARN>>Can't they be reasonable....I'd pay 500.00 for one right now...but not 900.00.......... I guess I'll stick to my OV-10..Heck at that outrageous price I could build almost 3 OV-10's....hmmmm anyone wanna buuy an Ov-10....I'll only charge ya 599.00......

Thanks Nemesis4u for the information. I agree the price is high but if you want one of the first one's you pay the price.
I plan on using Robart retracts and depending on the all up weight, OS 70 or 91's for power.

You know that they'll give you a good deal on the MVVS line of engines since you are buying the P-38....and the retract mounts are spring air ready... heck they are even working on a scale exhaust for the MVVS .91,,,,,,just what they told me.....but I still wouldn't pay their asking price....I am willing to accept a sponsorship though...I promise I will fly the P-38 if someone buys it....every weekend...

I will pass on the MVVS engines as I like OS better. I prefer Robart retracts because they have positive up and down lock but thanks for the info. I will let you know when it is shipped and when I get it. Also, it will be interesting to know what the weight will be. I ordered the camo one.

Sky Blue,
So how far southeast are you? I live near Atlanta - yes I've paid the deposit for the same color - haven't decided on the retracts or engines yet. Stay in touch.

Hey Minnflyer!!! Do you think I stirred up a "hornets nest''? No response from Morris on the "NASTY-GRAM" I sent them yesterday, theyll just probably throw it in the "round-file" But I will tell you what, I spelled it out CLEARLY how I [all of us] felt about their pricing strategy. "Yankee Sucker"

Maybe the guys over World Models will see this thread and release a large scale P-38 after the zero comes out! I'll bet they could build a larger one for half the price!

I too sent them an e-mail in regards to their high pricing..I was straightforward and canceled an order for 2 p-38's...as my buddy and I had requested one....I guess I will wait for one to be sold on RCU at 1/2 price....but by then perhaps they will lower their prices due to low demand and then just scrap the idea and no parts will be available....oh well....so anyone else got any ideas..

I also removed myself from the wish list. Plane could well be worth the money but the price shifts my interest to other giant scale projects. Waiting for KMP, it appears to be a more reasonable value probaly a better every day flyer??

I was thinking maybe $699.00 max considering it's size and features judging by other big ARF planes I have and have had.
I have $1,800.00 in my World GS P-51 and thats a $500.00 ARF.
I think Morris is at least $200.00 over the line on this one but I haven't seen on yet so they may be worth what there asking.
However, it's hard for a regular guy to invest almost 2 grand in a plane when on average most "simple" planes have short life spans and this twin will be a "complex airfraft".
