Good to hear that the lake season was a good one. Will make for a better building season for sure!
I did not get mine finished by last spring either and it went into snail pace throughout the summer as usual.
I did get the chance to fire the engines for the initial run up this past Sunday and am very happy with the results.
They run absolutely perfectly throughout the whole RPM range and there is considerably less vibration than I had anticipated, what I nice surprise!
I walked off a number of range checks at different RPM as well and found no glitchs at all. Another big plus considering all the wiring stuffed into the fuse. May be that keeping all the servos centrally located and very little servo extsion wire helped. That was sure a goal and it all looks good.
Spent last night buiding the monting blocks for my trailer so I can haul it without damage. Hope to take it to the field this weekend.

I wish mine was finished and looking as great as Randy's does. I had to slow down dramatically in the last few months. In need of parts, time and money. Work has been a chore lately with HP/Compaq merger stuff. Gee to think it's been a year since they anounced that one. Anyway, I hope to finish her by first of the year. No rush now since Bomber Field is this weekend. I'll be there though watching the big birds and enjoying the conversations.

Hey, for those of you who are building the 101" version with G-23's, if you have not already bought your engines, you might want to wait Horizon is going to release a G26 soon. And my guess is it will replace the 23.

Well, if your gonna be at Bomber look me up. Will be wearing Red JR cap, shorts, Polo HP Shirt.

I am building my #2 B-25 and have learned many things from already having built one and flying it......Throttles and power are crucial on this one.....With g-23's if you loose an engine the other one will take you to the crash site....wont fly on one unless your high and reduce power and land immmediately....When an engine quits it goes upside down in a hurry....G-38's a better choice for power and single engine performance.....Graupner 24oz fuel tanks fit nicely in the nacelles...also use one servo in the wing center area and run nyrods to each throttle...this eliminates 2 servo with a single servo failure causing an assymetric thrust situation which usually ends up back in kit form. Both airplanes with g-38's ended up perfectly balanced ....first one weighed 37.5 lbs and #2 between 34.5lbs and 35 lbs.......Great flying airplane makes beautiful nose high 2 point mains then relaxing elevator to put nose on the pavement...Good Luck....Bill

How you controlling your rudders? I know that Shawn is using embedded servos in the vertical stabs and that Randy has done it the "Ziroli way". Anyone running both rudders off one servo mounted in the tail? Seems that there has to be a better way than Nick detailed.

Regarding Bill's post, the reason that pilots view a twin as being less safe than a single engine is the tendency to enter an uncontrollable roll at low speeds with a lost engine......a VMC roll. I have no idea what the mininum controllable airspeed is on one of these models. Usually, it is not far from stall speed in landing configuration in a rull sized aircraft.

Beachdoc; I like many others am using the original Zeroli, setup with 1/4 scale servo installed. I have placed servo in rear gunners position, weight wise I don't know if this is a good location (trial and error).

1Wolf; we are still here I check this site every couple of days now, due to work on othwer projects that are more pressing.

Good to see everyone is still very caught up in B-25 fever.

BeachDoc.....My B-25 is almost finished (102" Ziroli),.....after learning from building the first one I put 2 9304 Fut dervos in the hor. stab. just outboard of the fuse lying flat with a push rod to a bellcrank just fwd of each rudder ....no play and easy installation...I also put both elevator servos(9304) in the fuse just below the hor. stab @ midway point.....this leaves me with a completely open bomb bay so I can drop lots of bombs......no pushrods in fuse , just 2 wires running to the tail.....should finish up first week in Nov....ready to fly....Bill

Hello Guys,

Since were talking about servo locations and such, I have a few questions for you guys. Where are you putting all the retract valves, Batteries, receiver antennas, air pressure guages, Switches, RX, fill valves, and sorts to minimize the use of space in the bomb bay? I opted for the permanent wing mount. My elevator servo is in the wing center section, as well as the servo for the nose wheel. I would like to minimize the use of access compartments if possible. Anyway, looking for nifty ideas.

I like the way Randy has mounted his connections on the floor of the battery box accessible through a hatch in the bottom of the fuse. That is how I plan to do it.

Shawn,Jeff.....Put the battery in a compartment fwd of Bomb bay for easy access....Put retract valve and mini-servo on a tray between bomb bay and NLG wheel well with an access panel....placed fill valve and switch assy in area between bomb bay door and wing section midway, have to look hard to see it, also for easy access from bomb bay.I also opted for permanent center wing section/fuselage combo ...makes for a lighter assy without the mounting blocks etc.......Finishing up l/h outboard wing panel and then she should be ready for paint.....Bill
