Thanks for the tips by the way. I appricate all comentary. As for the retracts, I have to say I have never seen these Barton retracts before. However, I already own the Robart version. I got them a few years back NIB at a price I could not pass. They seem real stout gear. I just don like the fact that the mounting area is narrow and does not allow for the wood to get close to the inside wall. If anyone has solutions or sugestions I'm open.

I like the idea of the ER-111. What is everyones opinion on this module? Is it a life saver vers. other methods?

Whay guage wire are you using to run the servo wires to the back of the plane, and this twisting thing is apparently nessesary?

Again guys, your help is great and I'm looking forward to getting started again in a few weeks. I will post picture on my web site once I begin.

Shawn

Definitely would go the mg and the 85 if it has more torque although I think 39 is plenty more is always better We are using the 645mg on most everything else. Kinda the same situation got a good deal on the 81's. As far as the EDR 111 this will be our first aplication but it all looks good. I think some of the earlier replies to the thread had used it maybe they will chime in here? We did beef up the retract mounts. Just keep in mind that everything you beef up adds weight. We added a lot of "beefing" to the nose section and nose gear mount cause they typically need wieght there anyway.

nd the one peice will fit in my van with short field assembly time. i am making a stand for the van that keeps the wheeles of the grouind to prevent flat spots. We are using the robarts landing gear but we haven't decided what wheele setup yet , we are eather going to have nose brake or main gear brakes due to cost difference. I hope this will help. when i can get to the point to get pictures of our landing doors and i will be getting pictures of the real plane. We went the scale doors becouse to build and spend the money we want it to look real even though we wont conpeat with it. Gordon

Mine will have center section permanent but am redesigning the center of it to have a full bomb bay and going to drop 8 to 10 bombs from mine along with a rotating turret that I got the idea and the design from Randy Lindermans turret.

Hey Guys, 1 wolf is correct on the Barton verus robart retracts. The wire we are using is 22 gauge
with some Deems connectors, most joints will be soldered and shrinkwraped. For you that have not seen our planes checkout the hanger at www.skunkworks.rcplanet.com. You will see three B-25`s in different states of construction. Look at the hatches and the landing gear.

Just a quick update The planes are coming along nicely but will probably not make the Jeff city show. I don't think Badigital and Pantherjet sound like they will either and several of you other guys are just starting sooo hopefully everyone can shoot for next year and we can have several. I have heard there was only 1 B-25 at Toledo?? Planes 1 & 2 would be very close by May but just hate to push it. (not near as much fun that way!) Anyway hope to see you all at JCRC in Jefferson City Mo. May 18 & 19 They always have a lot of nice planes there!! Usually quite a showing from 3d to warbirds and even a few nice jets.

I just recieved a message from my Friend Jesse at Lazerworks http://www.lazer-works.com/ that my 2 B-25 kits have just been packed up and are being shipped so hopefully by the end of this week i will be throwing balsa dust all over. My turret is coming along great and now that it is nice out I had to stop to do the wifes yardwork or she wont let me have my kits until I do even if I have to work in the rain she put it :0) But I have posted current pictures and done a review of the plans and posted a lot of research sites to my site So feel free to check them out at http://home.mchsi.com/~jahuntley/ as soon as I start construction my cam will be on 24/7 so that people can follow my progress whenever their timezone in the world permits. I hope my step by step construction site helps the new to giant scale warbird builders out there have a little less stress in their own projects.

She's a workin' Joe... You are on-line and lookin' good! I'm back at the keyboard tonight getting the UP2 valve and air cylinders ordered for the gear doors... they are finally hinged and working smooth. New photos of the gear doors on the engine / retract page of my construction site.
