I would love to have redcat put in a GOOD break-in procedure in the dang insturctions. I got my book with the truck and geuss what? They tell you to break-in the motor, (if i actualyl knew how) HA! Luckly ehroof saved the day but that got me thinking what is the best way to break in a redcat motor?

Is this better? http://www.rc-tradingpost.com/startupprocedure.html

Or this? http://www.johnnycoolguy.com/JCGR/main/tech_break-in.html

Or should you idel 1 tank and then run low speed and pick you the speed each tank?

P.S sorry if this is under the wrong thread but I thought this still has to do wit hwhat redcat should put in or with every car/buggy.truck they ship.

Just out of curiosity...would anybody be interested in an engine exchange program? or how about a whole engine setup, including our new electric starter, OR a bumpstart engine included with a starter box?

Just some ideas I had that I thought I'd throw out there.

More SH engines, or a PRO KIT 1/8 buggy, pro means RACE... with cf instead of all that aluminum, and a heck of a .21 engine (.21 sh competition engine)

NOw hang on ehroof, i have had over a quart of fuel and my spur gear looks to be maybe %5 wear. I did order another spur becasue i thought my first spur was out of round, but it turned out to be a bent transmission shaft too much 4x4 abuse lol. I now have a back up spur which is nice, but mine is working just fine and i abuse the heck out of it. This is in a volcano stx that i ordered in late july.

I have no problem with my stx, if you remember i reccomended for you to get the volcano and not the tornado xp, i am talking about the 2 speed tornado xp, it does nothing but strip spur gears, so you hang on dan98custom, you should have read my post before you posted yours. Not to mention you have about 3 weeks of rc experience and i have over 20 years in the hobby!

a "PRO" kit of the truggy with a set of race treads and wheels. The .28 sh competition engine, and maybe bowties ;D

I'm just hoping i can pick one (BUGGY) up before labor day weekend, as the RC X Games will be on! I was hoping to pay 10 bux for a showcase spot for Redcat Racing. Skinny from Xtreme Rc Cars will be there, and the race will be aired on tv.

And IF i get to race, it'll be with a engine from my sponsor, probably team edition and their pipe.

It would be nice if redcat would buy this thing back. I bought this thing about 4 months ago before I new any thing about rc sizes. When it arrived at my house I wanted to return it because I thought it was going to be bigger. I got it from a dealer on ebay. I have tried to get in contact with him to get my money back from him but he was no longer a member of ebay after our transaction. Now I have a new truck that I am trying to sell or trade. I'm tempted to crank it up and run it but I need the money more than I need to satisfy my curiosity

every vehicle I've ever seen on ebay or a hobby site lists the critical dimensions and the scale...It's not the sellers fault if you're uninformed...If they don't provide any of this info or links to it, all you have to do is google what it was and you could find something...You're gonna have to either use it, sell it, or let it sit...just call it a lesson learned...I've been burned a few times by not knowing the finer points on something, but it was my fault, not the sellers, so I'm wtuck with RAM for my P4 that doesn't work, although all the critical info I knew of matched, dongles for the bluetooth that should work, but just lock up my computer and all I got was "contact manufacturer, we're just a seller", but I can't find any manufacturer info....it's a buyer beware market on ebay...You just have to become as informed about a product as you can before you make a purchase....

Unfortunatlly there not available from Redcat or any other distributor, I checked our other two distributors and they don't have them either, UNLESS, there are some in the parts we bought from TST.

nobody makes those. you'd rather break a plastic lower arm than an aluminum one anyway, TRUST me
