Hi

Yes there is a brushless motor available for the cp tail rotor. Here is a link to one, go about half way down the page to see it.

I assume your talking about the Feigao Brushless Tail Motor T5 (Short) 39.95? hmmm, the long is about $7 less

This might be a dumb question but will a guy need one of those ESC's then? or if you have already upgraded the main motor to brushless then you wire in to it somehow?

it was more of a hypothetical question. i just dont want to buy a stock one every ten flights after i get a lipo. i'll probably end up doing the 2x mount tail motor

I really think the brushless would be the way to go,I am researching that now and have found a few options, problem is I have been away from RC anything for so long that I am really lost trying to figure everything out, when I quit electric was nothing more than a joke, now I have no desire to run anything but electric

I've used the brushless tail on a fixed pitch micro I had built. It does require that you go seperates though (unless you can hack the 4in1, in which case..maybe?).

At any rate, it gives tremendous tail power. Very fast piro rates. It runs cool, theres no brushes to burn. The only real problem is that you first need to get it to arm by fiddling with your rudder channel (some trial and error here, it depends on your ESC).
You also need a good gyro to get good performance out of it. GY240 minimum. If you've got the patience for revo mixing, then a cheap standard rate gyro will probably work fine, though performance will never be as good.

For reference, I used a Castle Creations Thunderbird 9 ESC and the Feigao IPS replacement (4100 kV variant if I recall correctly)
