Hi i have had one of these for over 6 months and i have not used it due to work commitments i now have some free time and would like to use it. However i have a few questions:

The heli came with two batteries how long does it take to recharge both of them?

How do you get this thing to fly e.g are there any procedures you need to follow in order to achieve flight?

Where do you recommend i try my first flight?

Sorry if these are stupid questions but i am from a RC nitro buggy background.

Thanks

jon

The green stock battery usually takes 2 hours-the blue battery should be a Lipo with a separate charger that is labeled Li ion charger. The Li ion charger has a led that changes color when charging is done.Either way,you probably don't need to charge more than 1 1/2 to 2 hours-overcharging will cause a lot of problems.

FMS is not very good it only teaches you what the sticks do the graphics are crap..if you can afford it buy real flight 2 or 3 its like flying the real thing i bought mine on ebay and i love it and a good sim is the best way to go if you crash there the repair is just a click of the mouse and its UP,UP,AND AWAY !! ( watch out tree!!!)

Left stick is: Trottle and eileron
Right stick is: Elevator and rudder

This is called Mode 2 (trottle on the left)
Thats the set up I got with my stock 36.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but walkera electronics is crap.
If you use the wall plug battery charger, your batteries will fry in about.... now.
Get better chargers. If you want this bird to fly, no choice but go with lipo battery and lipo charger (with ballancer).

Good luck.

can you recommed a charger which will charge both types of battery?

Im sure my setup is correct the rudder control is defiantly on the left, why is it different with yours? did you change yours?

Regards

Jon

If you have mode 2 radio throttle and rudder are left stick-elevator and aileron right stick.Nothing wrong with using FMS to get used to the controls-you need ppjoy to make TX work with FMS.You may need a special cable to get it to work with the 36 transmitter. The micro Dragonfly file is fine as FMS really doesn't allow for collective control anyway. There are a number of chargers that will do both nicads and lipo but they tend to be pricey-the Triton,Celectra, and Ice chargers are some.

NO. I didn't change anything on my transmitter. My Trottle and aileron are definately on my left finger. Now I'm using a Futaba radio, and that radio says my set is MODE 4.

You can use this charger, for both lipo and Nic.

But why would you want to stick with NiCads? No power.
If you use only lipos, you can get this cheaper charger:

Thanks for the links i might invest in one. However I think I should give the provided charger a go first even tho im kind of nervous of the battery's exploding.
