Okay guys I am looking to trade my nitro car for a blade cp soon. The deal is already confirmed on rcu. Well I was just wondering what should I do first? Adjustments? Tail motor (upgrade)? Where I should fly? I am a first time pilot so Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Mike

I to am new and I feel the tail motor needs to be adressed right away, gets old having to replace them, seems like each time I just start to get to where I can hover the tail motor goes bad on me.

If it does not come with a training gear - get one. You'll need it, get some spare blades if you want. If you have a good side backyard or frontyard you can do fly. I fly my Blade CP mostly in my living room when it is windy. If you want to get the DD tail upgrade fine. Check here for all Blade info you need http://www.helitown.com/BladeCP.htm Also check the newbie page which give you links to a different sites that provide training/flying advice. Just make sure that your heli is well tracked, blades balanced, CG is right and trimed - you are ready to start.
Enjoy

Im still having horrible time. Light always turns red in flight, I cant keep the thing still, it wont hover for the life of me, and the tail goes all over the place.

Light on the 4 in 1 turns red when you are at full throttle. No one ever said flying a helicopter is an easy task. You spend LOTS of time dragging your balls (training gear you pervert!) all over the ground learning the controls. Then you finally lift off, and do some simple hovering and add to it from there. LOTS of people recommend a Sim, but I have G3 and it hasnt really helped me. I beleive the CP is easier to fly than anything on the sim. But a lot of that has to do with losing the ground when in sim flight.

Once in a hover, you need to trim it to keep is somewhat still. I dont think a CP will ever stay "still" its just too light. Dont know how low you are hovering, but anything below 3-4 feet is a pain because you are still being affected by ground effect of the rotor making you go everywhere but straight. Setup works wonders as well. From the 4 in 1 adjustments to balancing of the rotor assembly and tweaking the pitch, it all comes together and makes a smoother, easier to fly copter. I am a total newb myself, but I have learned tons from reaing and tinkering with the heli. Heres a great site:

and a good "drills" site:

Yes, it IS tedious, but being comfortable with your heli's controls and knowing what to expect when you make an input on the sticks goes a long way. Flying is NOTHING like driving, you are always making changes and trying to keep one step ahead of the heli.

Nice photo's of your Blade CP, I see that you have made a few upgrades to it. Is that a t-rex body that you have on it? I really like the way that looks you done a great job on it.
