I have noticed here lately, that here on RCU you can go on the Marketplace and find Traxxas, HPI, AE, and Losi's galore. Why is that with so many CEN owners out there no one has any for sale here? Are they really not any good as others claim or is it that they are so gooood that everyone who get them holds to dear life to them? I dunno, I really like mine and couldn't see getting rid of it, and I have had the others and still do, although they don't see much time any more, but I have sold past models like them off. Just wondered if anyone else has noticed this phenomenon going on too.

I vote for the Latter of your 2 choices. In my Honest/Humble Opinion. Seriously, this is my first onroad Nitro. not my first nitro.. the CT5 has been an EXCELLENT Choice. I cant spew it enough. for as many issues as there are with nitro, if this was my first NITRO ever, I would never want to run anything else.... From the EASE of use I have experienced with the NX-15 in Tuning, Starting and Running to the the very controllable and responsive suspension setup and overall reliability AND durability!! If I had bought this as my first nitro item ever, then my garage would be full of CEN rather than some of the others, and will be moveing that way as I unload the other stuff I do have.....
I have hit a few curbs at 45-60mph. so far the only broken part was the stock steering servo head was broke when the inertia of the battery pack slammed into it... no biggie, i wanted to ug the steering servo anyways and is now fitted with a JR 590MG. excellent choice for steering duty on this car....
I, for one, and a VERY pleased CEN owner. I hope some of the next ventures for them is into the 1/5th scale world. I could see a CEN designed Mclearen F1, or Street Racer/Drifter Car loaded with a 32cc Gasser made specific and a 3speed Tranny and Shaft Drive. Or a CEN Super Gen MT and Sand Rail Extreme Buggy with big hogging 35cc stuffed crank gassers stock with 4 wheel shaft drive (option on SandRail) and exchangeable 2 or 3 speed trannys with gearing options, four wheel disk brakes and an one hr runtimes....... Did I mention Im Unemployed? lmao.
granted I have not driven or owned any other onroad cars. But I seriously see no need to try one!

The reason is that there are simply not as many CENs out there as those other brands, so in turn you will have a lot less for sale, its a percentage thing, even if there are the same % of all brands for sale on the secondhand market, because CEN is a smaller % you will notice a lot less for sale, anywhere you look, whether it be RCU, eBay, local rag or wherever.

i agree with azzman theres not as many CEn owners out there even though there have bin a few new owners. a lot of times when some one new is asking about what truck to get they get attacked buy all the traxxas, losi, a.e, hpi owners were us CEN owners are a very small voice wich often get over heard. look at the forums i believe hpi and traxxas and losi all have way over 60,000 post were the number here is nothing even close

When I started into RC I had a tmaxx and a savage. I only bought the cen because it was only like 250$ or something. I thought it would just be something cheap to play with. within a few months i had sold my maxx and savage and got a second CEN. lol.

I know when most people hear CEN they automatically think JUNK! I'm not really sure why, but i hear that its because cens original products were garbage.

If they start making 1/5 scales they will definetly have my business. Especially if they are as affordable as their other products.

I'm not sure it is a percentage thing. Over the last couple of years I have seen their popularity grow immensley.
In my opinion they are the best truck for the money, reliable, have good customer service, parts are cheap and they are easy to work on.

Really the only problem that CEN had with the first few trucks was a manufacturing defect in the sleeve of the engine, and bad crystals. The only problem that they really have now are the radio systems, which they are trying to fix by using a different brand of radio and the radio swap program.

I gotta chime in

when you look up trucks on e bay and type in cen genesis a few come up. the excuses are, too big for me, not enough room round these here parts for it, don't have the time.

My Genele is, big bad and badazz...I just got an LST2 have not even taken it out of the box I'm sure I'll like it. But My Genele was my first outting into nitro Trucks,

AND I LOVE IT!!! have had it for almost 3 months got 2 gallons thru her and, Did I mention I love her!! have had Usuall
Problems with it, But none That ANY other truck would not have as well.

Plus the guys here, GREAT HELP!!. thanks you guys especially michelob78 and Jombo.

I'm sold on cen Products. I'll Probably only own one LST2, cause I don't wanna Race. if I did, I'de go For the Nemesis. BUT GENESIS LE's,

I want 2 more just as well them guys are selling them on ebay. I'm Watching

I definitely don't think the original CEN vehicles were junk, they just weren't targeted to the racing scene like the newer models I just rebuilt a FF stadium truck for a buddy of mine he bought it for 25.00 witha bad radio and a blown up .16. I sawpped in a dynamite .12 and gave him a cheap radio and of course I beat it up a little before returning it and I had a blast with it
too bad the track wasn't open yet I would have loved to see that thing on a closed course.
I have also Raced the matrix and was very impressed with the performance of it. once the new CEN vehicles catch on you'll see alot more of them on the track and for sale as most racers opt for a new ride every year

I sorta fell into my Cen stuff after a 5 + year break. I got a Fun Factor real cheap and started to tinker again. I am still an associated fan but the Cen has been growing on me fast. I have 2 complete trucks and rebuilding a third. The more I tear down and rebuild the more I like the simplicity of the design. The NX16 engine I have is a dream to tune and runs great. Now the fun factor would get eaten alive on the race track with out some serious hop ups and even then I think It would get it 's hat handed to it. Other CEN products are very capable of being competitive. I started way back in the day of Tamyia Lunchbox,Blackfoort,Midnight Pumpkin. Back then you needed almost $200.00 of upgrades just to play. My first real race truck was the Losi JR2 and then the RC10, So I've always looked at these types of trucks. Right out of the box, minimum upgrades fast and reliable. My first look at the My cen stuff I honestly wasn't impressed. As I ordered parts and took it apart I've been won over. The customer service has been first rate. Now that I can get parts, I can get them in 24 hours from my LHS.
The prices are fair and lets face it the truck is fun and great for the back yard. A few things I'm not to crazy about Fun Factor parts are harder to get. The steering isn't the greatest. There website could use some improvements. (i.e) PDF Manuals. Hey no one is perfect. This board here is one of the best web resources for CEN. Maybe CEN is kinda like a cool secret, that only a few brave and hearty souls who are adventurous enough to discover them.

My $.02

I don't mind some people thinking Cen products are second rate, those of us that own\run them know the facts. I kinda fell into the cen products when I got my Gen LE for x-mas. Out of all the RC companies I see Cen striving to make the best possible product, they continually improve upon parts and their kits. There are a good group of members here that post in the cen forums, from solving problems to trying different parts and making our own parts. This is how the RCU community is supposed to work, enjoying the hobby and helping fellow members. Maybe you don't see alot of cen products in the marketplace because they get sold too quick? ... there could be a million reasons. I eagerly wait for the GST to be released, maybe then you will see some genny's and nemmy's for sale? But I would bet to say probably not......

one thing i have also noticed is CEN isnt so full of itself that they cant/wont take customers advice. we see/notice issues, or even come up with solututions, not only will CEN most likely incorperate the solution in future runs of the product. they are willing to spread that fix around to their current customers NO MATTER WHO has the parts to fix it, Lost,HPI or whoever. CEN seems to be much more about a better product and happy customers than ANY of the others as far as i have seen

My expeirience wasn't a good one. Ihave a ffmt2 and I have to say now that I got my Sportmaxx, my cen is like garbage. The fact of the matter is that there aren't as many upgrades and things as there is for a traxxas. Plus, parts are hard to find, and ya always need 'em. I do have give it up for the NT-16. It's a nice little motor. very easy to tune, start, and wouldn't beat up glow plugs. I must of have gotten a bad batch of trucks or something, lol. Anyway thats just my 2 cents.
