Hello,

I broke my engine back plate and roto start assembly of my Savage X, to replace them i need to remove the engine. I went through the manual and it shows that removing four screws will remove the engine, but 2 screws are not reachable from bottom with out removing bottom plates. There are no instructions how to remove those plates at the bottom of the truck.

Please let me know if i need to remove bottom plate to get to the engine screws or is there any other way.

Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Thanks

if you look at the bottom you can access the two that come out after the skid plate, on the skid plate there are two large holes parallel to these screws, thats the access for the other two engine mount screws.

Remove the fuel tank. Then remove the 4 screws (from the top) that attach the engine to the engine mount. This is the easiest way if you want to remove the engine only.
