Curious question.

How long will the lipo batteries last?
Is it the number of charges on them?
Hours they work?
I have 2 Lipos for my blade cx, they are about 5 months old. I fly every day. So about 150 charges.

Flight time on my CX is about half of what it use to be. I can't tell if it's the batteries or the motors going bad.

Any help would be welcome,

Dave / AKA Choppersrule

the batterys may be getting bad. Do they baloon up or anything. Do the motors seem less weak or anything like that?

Minitman,

The batteries don't ballon up at all, does sound like the motors might be straining a little. The guy at the local hobby shop said that the motors last about 20 to 30 hours. Flight time is half of what it use to be, maybe 5 minutes.

Man this can be an expensive hobby. I have 2 CX's and a CP. But it's still alot of fun.

Board with the CX, no not really. When I first got it, I flew it through 3 or 4 battery packs everyday. I did that for about 3 months or so. Then, I purchased a CP and spend alot of time trying to learn to fly it, I find it a bear. I can hover okay, but not great. But I still fly the CX 3 or 4 times a week in my computer room and land on tables, desks and stuff like that. It's the challenge I like.

Good Luck,

Dave / Choppersrule

Right, it can't do many tricks or super fancy flying. But on a rainy day or high winds, and winter and you get bored it's still pretty neat. It helps keep your skills tuned. Tail in, nose in, left and right hovering. Figure 8's and all that stuff. I just like it.

Minitman,

Just go slow and be patient, everyone learns at a different rate. Some can lean to fly in a few hours and some much longer. It took me a good month before I could fly it around the garage.

Now I can do all the fun stuff and can even land it in my hand.

If you can do that stuff with the CX, how do you like your CP? I've flown 3D fixed wing planes for about 2 months now, and planes in general for about 1.5 years. I've previously owned a heli (even if it sucked and died on me...but that wasn't my fault) and I'm tinkering with the idea of getting a CP. Something for indoors or outdoors, and something that hovers better than a plane.

Flyingace,

The Blade Cx is a piece of cake compared to the Blade CP. It's a totally different bird, it's similar to balancing a marble on a pane of glass. It takes time and patience to learn to hover the CP. It took me a month to hover before I felt okay with it. We all have different learning curves.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good heli for the price. If you decide to get one, follow the instruction manual to the letter, when adjusting the proportional mixer and gyro gain. I would also suggest getting training gear, it will save you a lot of broken blades. Well worth the extra money.

Once you feel comfortable hovering for a least one battery pack or 6. Remove the training gear, it will feel different, but actually seems easier to fly.

Take your time, it sure is a great hobby.. I enjoy the flying aspect and the repairing part, when you crash. We all do.

Good Luck,
Dave / AKA Choppersrule
