Welcome coastie to the Vegas forum....If someone has a Vegas for sale...I am sure they will let you know, but you can look on the web....but good luck we love Vegas boats....

Ok I believe this has been cover, but here is what with did with the Vegas Tank...Screw on lid would be nice but hey...everything is fixable...

You need:
1/2 inch long small bolt and nut
Rubberband

The lid on the Vegas is all good ...till it looses the oil from filling the tank...on the O ring in lid. As fuel is burned the oil leaves the oil ring in lid..and you got leak. So here is a simple cure to stop it from leaking air.

1.)On the tank lid there is a small hole like a tab in the front the lid. Get your 1/2 inch long bolt and nut "size that will fit thru hole in lid. Stick the bolt from under neath so the bolt is sticking up thru the lid now..place the nut on the bolt and tighten.

2.)Now release the the front gas tank screw...so you can barely lift it...
3.)Double over your rubber band so it is two layers thick.
4.)Place the rubberband under the front gas tank screw down tab.
5.)When you replace the screw, you should have the rubber band just sitting there waiting the be hook on the lid.
6.Pull the rubberband up and slip it over the bolt you just installed.
7.) We put a little plastic nub of hose over the bolt head to help the rubberband to last longer..the bolt threads do wonder to a rubber band at high speed...so wrap it..also make sure your rubber band under the tank is not hung up on wood block...it will slip between the block and tank..making it last longer.
7.Your done...you got a tight lid.

Now you have two fittings in your tank.
One is pressure....One is fuel
Pressure comes thru the lid
Fuel comes out top rear of tank.
These fittings unscrew and can be removed
Be CAREFUL!!!! not to slip when removing..there plastic
We use regular white thread tape and replace the fitting..never leaked again, and the tape is not harmed by Nitro fuel. Remember to wrap the tape backwards to avoid when replacing the tape unwhinding from fitting...

you can check your tank for leaks by replacing all the fitting with tape and rubberbanding the lid. Just remove the pressure line from the muffler. blow thru it with your thumb over the carb intake...you should have no leaks..if so you will hear it...dont blow hard..no need...the pressure from the pipe is minor, but very important...

Happy Boating..

Hello Dirty...the reason we and answer and others dont is because most of them are out racing and attending events. This happens in the R/C boat business. When they are on they catch up and answer. We are here on a regular basis. Now with your Vegas, dont get discouraged...theres hope...here is a few tips for those who are new to the R/C Powerboat hobby.

1.) You are new to this hobby and with anything new you have to learn. With the Vegas it is a 300.00 boat correct. If you want a bad boat with nothing to upgrade...There are thousands of them here and on the net...BUT!!! They are NOT!!! 300.00
In general a (RTR) is ready to run, but not like you want...this is what makes it fun...A combination of learning tips and gaining skills. What would there be if you were a super racer and had the best boat right out of the gate, no one could beat you on the planet??? ...YOU WOULD BE BORED!!!

2.) The Vegas is a superior design by AquaCraft and Jerry Dunlap, althought we are proud of our own stuff for the Vegas...The Vegas for $300.00 is a steal...And a wonderful model to start on in the R/C world.

3.) I have been inform that if your boat has a defect that cause you to be unhappy...Please contact the customer service dept at AquaCraft. The only way that AquaCraft can make your boat better is to know your issues. Without this the boat will never change. people like Jerry refers back to AquaCraft what he see here, but he is one person. Live by the term the squeaky wheel gets the oil. So instead of showing anger in the boat, Ask AquaCraft to help fix your anger...They are very helpful and have replaced a Miss Vegas for us in four days...

4.) Last but not least...give people time to answer you here. We all want to help you enjoy your Vegas. In my case I am here often, but its because we are in our production shop with the internet...we check...alot. But like in Grim Racers case he races and attend events around the U.S. So internet is impossible for him and Jerry, but when they get a chance...they are here. i want to qoute a comment Jerry Dunlap said to me on the phone last week "James, the biggest thing a designer wants to see...is people liking his product..." So post your problems and let someone answer you...

Do like we do...have fun making them the best Vegas out there...

Tower has the drive shaft you need here Vegas Drive Shaft.
or we do
Vegas Drive Shaft

I think its funny though...Jerry's reason for not being here is....he drives a Zamboni ice machine at rec center....I WONDER IF HE AUTOMATICALY GOES AROUND THE FLOOR RIGHT? AND HOW FAST?

The Zamboni makes turns to the right and blasts around the rink at a blinding 7 mph .

It is extremely important to really tighten down on the flex coupler that come with the Miss Vegas. What seems sufficiently tight just might not be sufficient to hold onto the flex cable.

The Tower Hobbies Super Savers Club is a good investment. You get free shipping on any order over $150, plus some of the Scratch and Dent boats are only available to Super Saver members. Last month I bought a new Miss Vegas for a friend through Super Savers and Tower Discounting and paid $240 and no shipping.

I haven't seen any Miss Vegas hulls yet on Scratch and Dent. But, I'm sure there will be. You need to check on a regular basis because the boats could only be listed a short time if someone buys them quickly.

Be VERY careful with the purchase of a scratch and dent boat from tower.I bought a ts2 and a miss vegas with "carton damage only".

The ts2 was an easy fix and tower cutomer service looked after me.

The vegas was severly damaged and after several e-mails and pictures I was very fairly dealt with but it is my last boat purchase from scratch and dent.

They were only marked down a small bit so,It's not really worth it when you Can get a new vegas as a club member for $240.00

Over all and up until the miss vegas color isues and damaged boats i must say towers is a decent place to purchase from.

There a couple RTR Miss Vegas a few weeks ago, listed as "box damage". They actually stayed there a couple days before they got gone. I posted a heads up in one of these threads. Didn't hear whether an RCU member got one or not.

That's one way to change the orange/white scheme to something real eye catching.
I hope others who paint their Miss Vegas boats will post photos like yours and a couple of previous posts.

WoW!!!!!!!!

Super job on the paint work...and the "Bad Day At The Lake" I call that a good day....your rudder on the Vegas could be gone...

Is the Vegas good for a newbee...well sure....its like any other boat, you have to learn it....The best thing about a Vegas is....No two are alike...I know the Vegas is gaining speed here in Wichita...But just for the record...our Vegas will stay....its color...Orange/White

Twisted what prop do you recommend on your site??? the 2 blade or the 3? My style is basicly this... i like to get out of the hole fast and into the straights. drag basicly. i just want to know what one to get with the whole package deal.

and i'm a new vegas owner and they are AWESOME. just have replacement parts on hand. it's alot cheaper than my EMAXX. never know when that turtle would pop up and take out a prop or a rudder.
