I just ordered a new Miss Vegas ( my SV27 was getting lonely! ) They mention on the web/site that they have made upgrades to the new boats. Did they address the fuel tank/spydering issues? This will be my first nitro boat. Will it be as fast as the SV27? I don't have anyone to race, other than a friend ( who owns a SV),but I'm trying to get guy's around here intrested. I think they race south of me at Evansville,Indiana, but can't find much info about the club,or location. Ron

I haven't seen any tank issues in the last 6 months with MVs in my area. For information on the Evansville boat club, go to IMPBA.com, go to the Event Schedule link, and check out races in mid-June because there was a race at Evansville and there's club contact info there.

Thanks,Jerry! We are running the SV's about every evening, and some people are comming out,and showing some interest in RC Boats. We have around 30 lakes at our disposal,so finding a lake to run in isn't much of a problem. Thanks, again for the information. Ron

dang, 30 lakes? lucky you!! i have only found one spot to run around here in portland so far, washington has it a little better from what i gather, but the boatin' spots here are slim......

i just installed an os .18 cvr motor in the vegas, i can't wait to see what she'll do on the next run out.........

Yea,davey! There are allot of lakes (gravel pits in this area) and they are making more lakes pumping out the gravel! That's why I got interested in RC Boats,(flew planes for 35years) and the flying sites are a few,to none around here. I'm hoping to get the MV running well. I used to fly "quicky 500" planes, and was pretty good at getting the power out of the Nelson engines(a little creative port work dosen't hurt either! ) Ron

For general running can I use 20% heli fuel in the Vegas? What oil content is needed for a boat engine? 18% or less? Ron

Ron,

what Heli fuel are you looking at?

I ran the Heli mix from WildCat with 18% oil content for a couple of years with no problem what so ever, I now run the Promix with same oil content.

and yes 20% nitro is fine, you don't have to run high nitro if you don't want to.

myself I would not go below 16% oil or higher than 18 but thats me, others may prefer less.

Dan

Well. I have an sv-27 which is awesome and just purchased a miss vegas. runs great. have had some minor problems but so far have gotten them all ironed out. Have noticed people complaining about the fuel tank looking like it cracks, and looks like its safty glass that hasn't fallen apart. or spiderwebing. after two tanks of 30% odonnell fuel, my tank looks like that too, but it's not leaking. kind of seems like a patterned design on the inside of the tank. Has anyone found a cause for this and does it get worse? have only had the boat for approxamately 2 weeks.
