Ran the MV last night, and hit something in the lake! It took big chunks out of the rudder, and cracked the transom across the top seam. I've cut the leading edge of the rudder back, and repaired the transom. I also replaced the bottom bolt on the rudder with a nylon one, hoping this will shear off instead of wrecking the back of the boat. The boat is really flying (at last) and will blow over when the fuel tank is almost empty,I added a ounce of weight to the "ballast box" in the front of the hull. The square (wheel weights) are held in with velcro,so you can add,or remove them. The boat has cracked in many places, and is bondoed up,but I plan on tearing it down this winter, and sanding ,and filling the hull, then a new paint job for next spring. Our lake was a "clean lake" before the big flood waters covered everything, this year. Now I think we have a bunch of rough fish carp, gar, ect. in there, and they cruise around just below the surface in the evenings. What ever it was,it took a real hard shot when the rudder hit it.Are you guy's using fuel proof paint when repainting the hulls? Ron
