Bloodyhell! nothing ever fits right!
Crawf, did you use the X mount that came with your 480,or bodgy something else up? the X is too big for the firewall holes...I guess I could drill more holes, but there must be a better solution.I will go and have a look in my box of tricks.
This is another one of those lessons that I never heed as I try and stuff a V8 in a Hyundai Excel....again....
She looks nice though in a square kinda way....

I saw a guy fly like that with a raptor 90 at an open day about 6 months ago.The video doesn't do it justice, when they are doing the tic tocks and similar, the sound that the blades make as they suddenly reverse pitch is amazing.Watching good chopper pilots is an education and a half thats for sure.I would love to get into them, but compared to planes,I can see a bottomless pit to throw money at....Awesome to watch though.

I actually got a serious question Anyone have any experience with the MKS or Align receivers on Wattsup.com? They are really cheap, and I could use them in future planes if they are good, but I cant find anything on them.

I've used both and they are okay. However, the MKS crystals on wattsuprc have never given me anything but grief. At the end of the day though, they are still park flyer RXs and will glitch if the ground is wet or the day of week ends with "day". They are better than feigao - not that that is saying that much.

Cheers,
oz.

Bleary

I used the x-mount that came with the 480 but what I did was to firstly screw the x-mount onto the firewall using the inner holes (which are normally used to mount the motor to the x-mount). Then when it was fixed to the firewall I drilled holes in the firewall using the outer holes of the x-mount. I also used my Dremel to cut notches into the area behind the firewall so that the 4 blind nuts could pull in tight onto the back of the firewall when the x-mount was screwed in from the front.

Then I unscrewed the x-mount from the firewall, screwed to the 480 and then screwed the mount with the 480 attached to the new holes I drilled into the firewall.

Does any of this make sense? Even when I re-read it, I'm not sure....

Cheers,
Crawf

Bleary, Ive always had a soft spot for the Brio, its just a beautiful all round pattern plane.
Oz, thanks for the information regarding the receivers. I can use them in future foamies that can take a ding, as long as the glitches aren't major its fine. Im really itching to get the Prodigy/ Genius up, its the best looker Ive had and hopefully the best performer, but i will be putting some good stuf into it so my birthday may not even bring enough money. I will get a balancer before I but the battery. Anyone have experience with the E-watts 25 amp esc apart from Dave? I know Daves Ok with it but Id be interested to here if anyone has any problems with it, eg glitches ?
