What is the address of that museum? Is it a public museum, or a private collection? That place looks fantastic. It's only a couple of hours from me so Ireckon I'll go for a look.

Its the new GWS F15, not released to the dealers yet. Runs twin EDF64 fans much like the 262. PQ2000XQ 4s1p battery packs, around 40 amps draw at 14 volts on a fresh pack, 37-38,000rpm at the fans.

Am happy with the flight performance in this revolting weather we are having, should improve alot when it gets warmer down here.

Hey guys, well done on 200 pages!!!

Crawf, Rowdy - thanks for the comments on the pics, i have some more from the same day that i will put on tonight I have one where i turned the tables, i throttled down and just glided it close to the ground so they started to fly off then chased them........ i found that cockatoos are a lot more manouverable than the stryker

Extreme, that F15 is VERY nice!

Hi guys

Maybe we should start thread No.2 off with a list of what flying models we have, specs etc. If it is first up it will be much easier to find as a future reference point. What do you think?

Sounds like a good idea to me. Altho i dont know how uptodate that list will stay, we all seem to be buying more planes than we can fly

Hard to have too many planes IMO - it is possible to have too many of the same planes though perhaps.

Bleary - we stand by waiting for you to start The Australian Thread # 2 - assuming you wish to.

Congrats everyone on 200 pages. I have to say - this is the one place on the net that I check every day. Used to the Sydney Morning Herald but frankly that was just getting me down - this is so much better!

Cheers and Beers

Sounds like a great idea clovus ... Bleary ... you need to get started with post #1 in The Australian Thread - Part 2
and it'd probably be a good idea once the first post is up, to put a link to it from the last post of Thread 1.

AND.... although I had every intention of adding a PZ Spit to my hangar today, I could not get one anywhere in Brisbane.
So with the money burning a hole in my wallet - err credit card, I happened upon a MPXT PNP and decided - what the heck... It only comes with a Park 450 BL but I can start it with that and then swap the 480 into it from the MUS and if it works out, (which I presume it will based on Clovus and Oz's comments) I'll just buy another 480....

So looking at the MPXT out of the box, there doesn't appear to be a lot to do... servos are installed, motor is installed, all linkages are installed, ESC is installed ... looks like bolt on the wings, bolt on the LG, install the Rx and LiPo and connect the servos....

Pix and build report shortly... looks very nice though as I know it would after seeing clovus' a few weeks ago..

Clovus,

The MPXT is a funny plane to land - perhaps that is why your new one seems to easy - the MPXT:

- holds its airspeed.
- does have a predictable but solid and large stall.
- really flies moderately quickly when its size is taken into account.

I'm still getting used to landing her. You really need to sort your speed and altitude out on base before you turn for final, otherwise this hurtling chunk of balsa/ply arrives at the strip before you know it.

Dave - the MPXT might be a reasonable third plane but just echoing what Clovus said balsa takes quite a bit of effort to repair and get straight. So work on error free flights (or at least making your errors high enough that you can recover).

Cheers,
oz.
