has anyone used the Fullers Carbon lower, with a MAC 21 O.B. motor? I think i read somewhere the Fullers Carbon lower is setup for K&B power and i think hte MAC 21 O.B. is also setup for a K&B Lower?

Will this work without a ton of extra work?

Fuller lower unit has same pattern with K&B, Lawless and i saw numerous using MAC21 with lawless, so it will fit in CF.....that's gonna be a good lookin'
..all black motor and lower ......and OS is kinda different animal

Anybody has any opinion about the Hyperformance lower units?
I have a Rossi engine, but I don't want to cut my K&B lower unit.

I thinking to upgrade my TS2, with a Rossi engine.

I still understand why need to put the pads recovery, Could you explain me, too?

The front recovery pads help prevent the hull from hooking in corners. They do this by limiting how deep the sponons settle in a corner.

It would be less expensive to order a K&B lower unit and cut it than to use the Hyperperformance lower unit.

JD

Many thanks for your answer Jerry.

Do you know another options (Lower Units) for my Rossi?

Here are the following 3.5 lower units I've used with MAC and CMB powerheads:
1. K&B cut to accept a tuned pipe
2. Lawless from R Mfg.
3. The black carbon fiber lower unit that Fuller sells.

I've seen others, but wasn't that impressed with them. The bolt pattern for the O.Sl lower doesn't match the K&B pattern.

We had trouble getting them to turn the boat until we cut the fin off and welded on a new larger one.
Here are some pics of that mod. After doing this they track like a train!

Chris Jenkins and I talked about the Hyperformance lower last year. I was wondering what you guys did and if it changed how it handled. To me, if one shells out the big bucks, shouldn't be needing to change anything. I'll stick with the Lawless..

Yep, I agree with you! We spent the money on them so we fixed them. There's more to this story, but I won't go into it here.

I've found the mod engines to be 4 - 5 mph faster than the stock engines on my TSs.

Hey Jul, How you doin? No, the Eliminators are not kits. I designed them, (although the first ones were alot like Villains using WOF construction) drew the plans and made templates for the parts. Since the first ones each version has gone thru some design changes. So far out of 11 boats there are 5 versions. This has definately been a learning experience! Of all those versions 3 have seen water. The 3rd version is the best so far. Version 4 is awaiting paint. One version 5 is waiting on paint and 4 more are under construction. I hope to finish 4 more before race season. You can see the Version 3 boat run at ABMODS.com in his gallery. Mike

Jul,
The boat I raced last season was the first one I built. My friend Chris has one too. They both are still in good shape. The one I wrecked was a second version. It had the engine inset nearly 2 inches. We started out with a Rossi on it but I just never came to terms with that engine. I broke the crank in it and was so disgusted with it I just shelved it. Next I tried a K&B on it. The K&B was pretty well wore out but gave me a chance to try some things. I picked up a Thunder Tiger and it eventually found it's way on to the version 2 boat. I did some timing changes to the TT and my buddy Adam (AB Mods.com) did some internal flow work. I mounted it with a 1/2" spacer. After we resolved some issues with The TT not drawing fuel it started to run pretty good. We tried some different props, plugs and fuel. Tinkered with the trim and man that thing came alive! I was so amazed at how good it ran I got careless and hit the rocks with it. I was so happy with the TT that I was considering setting up 2 sport boats for next year. One (OS powered)for slick water and another (TT) for rough water and perhaps even a third for short tracks like Madison.

The TC31 runs well after a lot of tuning but the dynamite 32 can only take it so far. It seems that just when things start to get interesting the dynamite runs out of steam and can't give anymore. I was thinking of dropping in (with a lot of work) an OS 46 before i got the TS2, but that would be in all aspects overkill to the n'th degree. i have to admit that I have not given it much interest since I got the TS2.

I think i'm gonna go with the silver bullet HP pipe at htbboats. Where did you get the header and rossi pipe? Also, a friend of mine runs the htb 290 with a rossi. It screams and is on rails. I think one may be in my future soon.

The prop spins in the same direction as most other R/C boats. Turn the flywheel and watch the prop. You want the prop to turn in the direction that moves the boat forward.

hi all,

its been a while since ive posted (very few anyhow) and also been a while since i used my TS2. Im over in OZ, and summer is upon us, so I have decided to get the TS2 out. My last correspondence was that the TS2 had a close encounter of the "rock" kind, but i have managed to fix the hull and buy another os21xm motor. i have been reading a few threads and will get "hop-ups" for it. i am a weekend basher, so really im after longevity for the OS. I am waiting for Mark from HTBBoats to reply back to me about a silver bullett header/pipe combo, shipped to AUS. Also not sure which prop to go for, too many reports, so I might just buy an array and choose whats best for my needs (i like the idea one for circuit racing with my mates, and then one for top speed runs).

I think thats all I'll do to the engine, just header/pipe combo, and get a prop. A few questions have pondered while reading threads

a) with the silver bullet pipe, there is only x1 exhaust nipple for the petrol tank, so what happens with the leg and the flex cable ? (strd pipe has a x2 feed delivery to the leg)
has anyone run a hopper tank full of oil, used the bottom leg nipple as the return to the hopper tank, and the top leg nipple as the feed? and then get a second exhaust nipple tapped into the SB pipe and run this to the hopper oil tank to pressurise it?

b) is there any effect of running a ram pod on the carby and sucking in forced air ?

c) sanding the bottom with 600 grit in a nose to tail motion ?

anyone else got any simple ideas ?

thanks in advance
Peter

a) u'l need oiler or squirt oil everytime u run it.

b) kinda interested to see ur ram pod,,do u have a picture..

c) i don't see any difference after sanding,,,just my observation...
