do Yokomo Parts usually have a high quality? ive got a Yokomo Drift Car and it seems like some of their parts have good quality other parts they make just plain ole' suck. are there any companies that have better quality when it comes to parts and products?

Usual story with Yokomo in my experience too

Far superior quality comes from:
Xray (expensive)
Corally (expensive)
Associated (affordable)
Losi (affordable)
Schumacher (affordable)
...and some of the lesser known makes (but very high quality - but usually expensive)

Yokomo parts aren't bad. It's just that the Drift Package uses plastic parts and the other cars use graphite. Arms break easy and are cheap to replace. Aside from that, the only thing I hate about my DP is the standard screw set.

Yes, but since it's a nitro car, you'll have to maintain it a lot more strictly than an electric. I wouldn't recommend nitros for beginners.

The main reason nitro isn't for beginners is the fact that you have to brake to slow down whereas an electric motor slows a car down when the throttle is cut (back EMF/induced current etc.)

Electrics are charge and run, nitros can be a pain in the arse if you can't set one up and you can spend all day just trying to get the damn engine running

Yup. It's not even really electric start. The Roto-Start system still mechanically starts the engine. And it sucks. A pull start would be better.

Turning the engine over is easy peasy, getting it to carry on by itself is the hard bit

what do you mean turning the engine over? like turning it from roto start to pull start? or just using a pull start in general?

What about the HPI Sprint 2 RTR? Do they work well for drifting?
