The prop shaft looks like it might have a slight angle to it ( prop looks like its angled towards the sky )
Otherwise ... you might want to just send it to me and I will take about a year or so to test and set it up right for you ....

( only kidding )

Looks good

Personally , I went those braided lines idea , and ended up taking them off .... reason - you can't see either the fuel , or water running thru , and also think they might end up causing glitching , if they are not 100 per cent tight on the barbs .
Those prop blast water pick ups also seem to be lower than the prop hub ...
And last , but not least ... not sure if you have any , but I don't see any floatation( most commonly used are those colored pool noodles )
Opps , take that back ... another thing I just noticed ... the drive dog seems to be butted right up against the strut . With a collet setup , you need to leave almost a 1/4 of an inch between the drive dog and the strut for when the flex cable needs to flex ( tighten up - shrink ) , otherwise , you will have binding and might rip the flex cable and do some serious damage to your hull .

I'll have to agree with TERBObob. The stinger should be parallel to the bottom of the keel as a "starting" point. ( no negative or positive trim). If you are using the round collet for the flex, you will need to leave at least a 1/4 inch gap between the drive dog and strut. The flex cable, when under torque, will actually shrink by a quarter inch, and like TERBObob said, will cause binding and possible damage. If you are running a square collet setup, the gap is not necessary.

first the hull is a aeromarine challenger knock off from ebay. The 1/4" you guys are talking about is between the prop and the strut? drive dog is on prop side right? If so I should only have to cut the shaft some and move stuff around, or if enough room just slide the prop back? This might explain why I kept snapping shafts on my last boat. How about the tabs do they look to long? Thanks guys is is the kind of stuff I was looking for, any one else.

Ok ... with the drive dog , what you want to do is remove the set screw , ( of course , after you remove the prop nut and prop first ) and then after removing the drive dog , move back aprox 1/4 inch and notch the prop stub where the drive dogs set screw will go . ( this is so the drive dog does not turn on you when under load )
Then , simply put the drive dog back on , this time though , use the NEW notched area for the set screw and then replace your prop and prop nut ( if not using a ny-lock nut , use some lock-tite on the prop nut so you don't loose your prop .

Trims look fine .

also a tip for grub screw set screws whatever you want to call them make sure they are flat not pointed then they will have more surface area in contact with the shaft.file a flat spot on the shaft or as said notch it with a dremel or something.also agree on the angle of the prop it needs to be parallel or slightly down not up .nice boat congrats on the build she should run great once you iron out the things that have been pointed out good luck with her.

How well does the dual rudders work? The hardware kit that I ordered from Marine Specialties includes the dual rudders.

Looks pretty slick sitting in the water, good job.

I like the duels it turn in less space than the length of the boat if you turn it hard. Kinda like a jet boat, and turns equally well left or right. I am using the marine specs setup too, so know you know what it looks like mounted.

well had the boat out over the weekend and had a catastrophic failure with my drive shaft. must of hit something in the water because it put a ding in the prop, pigtail shape in the flexshaft and shattered the stuffing tube. Oh well now shes dry docked. hope i can get it ready for the holiday weekend.

Sorry to hear that ...
Two BIG culprits that cause things like that

1) TURTLES
2) partially submerged logs

Can't see either till ya hit one . I just hit a turtle myself the other day with an airboat ....
Kinda looked like someone just came up and "hit" it from underneath and caused it to flip sideways ( on a straight run )

Hope you get her up and running again soon .
