Good Day,
Has anyone ever heard of a Raptor 50 EVO. The reason I ask is because I have one. Its a very hopped up version. I am trying to locate more information on the model but cannot find anything online. If anyone could help that would be much appriciated...
Regards,
Solo.

Why is it definitely called a EVO. Is that a name you just decided to call it? It's either a Raptor or it's an EVO, not both.
If you mix parts together it's a hybrid and you can call it a Brontasauraus if you want.

Hi Solo,
Did you by any chance get the chopper at aerial-concepts in Kelvin??
I think the evo is a kind of modded raptor they have put together...it's the only place in Jo'burg where I have seen 1.

Hey Guys!
From What I have heard the Evo is from the same company that manufactures the parts for Thunder tiger (it was out sourced! Hobby taiwan I think!) and they just basically use the same parts and give it a different name. All parts are obviously compatible.
....or aerial concepts have just put different stickers on it and given it a different name! Doubt it though!

Morning,
Found a little more info out... its called the Raptor 50 Evor.
Saw that it is also available in other countries other than South Africa. Its a raptor clone manufactured by a previous TT manufacturer. I have personally had Both a STD Raptor 50 and now the Evor. The Evor definitely gave me more bang for my buck and the quality of the parts is superb. For the same amount of cash I got a ton of hopups including a full metal head. Also the instruction manual is more detailed and had lots of pretty colour pictures rather than diagrams.
I have to however wonder, how does a company that no longer Manufactures for TT build the Evor without nailing into things like copyright and so on...
I've attached a great picture I found on one of the websites...

Morning,
It worked out cheaper for me to purchase the Evor than to purchase a V2 and try and hop it up to the same spec... also included in my deal was the OS 50 Hyper, which is a pretty sweet motor...

Solo

I found this site ([link=http://www.fullkontroll.se/]http://www.fullkontroll.se/[/link]) on another forum, it works out to $686.00 Canadian or $617.00 USD (not a bad price). It's cheaper then the 50 SE, but I'm sure the shipping would be the killer (I'm looking into that now).
Does anyone have a link that will translate this site to English? Thanks

I am also looking into getting one of these Evor's..
And yes, it is a kit that consists of all Hobby Taiwan('Pirate' part manufacturer of Raptor spares) spares and comes stock with almost ALL metal hop ups..It works out a LOT cheaper than buying a Raptor 50 V2 and upgrading everything to metal..
Quality is still awesome and looks to be a great chopper.

Hi guys. I'm a newby - just signed in. From what you're all saying this Evor 50 looks like the thing to get. I am in Australia and RC model / hobbyists here are not familiar with it. Apparently the Raptor 50 is the standard here among the RC clubs - or so I am told... It costs as a complete pkg about A$1450.00. (with 6ch RC). I have just checked out both the sites mentioned in this thread and the Evor prices around A$900.00. - are there any English sites? I would like to see the specs in English on this heli, and then get prices for a complete pkg incl., RC, etc. Then price it to ship to Aus. Any help with further info. would be appreciated.

Thanks for your input "barracudahockey". However I am not surprised people in Oz have'nt heard of this Evor 50. We tend to be behind the times from the rest of the world when it comes to new technology. And from what "Al - Aviation Junkie" states above this heli is a Raptor clone with interchangeable parts and the metal upgrades come as a standard, and at a lower price than Raptor. If so I would like to know where "Al - Aviation Junkie" is planning to buy his Evor from. Thanks again...
