i tried to charge my bump starter but it wont charge. why could that be? and yes i hooked it up and let it charge all night.

batteries have a certain number of charge cycles, so it could just be worn out, i think NIHM's can be charged over 1000 times but they go downhill from there, your charger my also be damaged

please dont say its anything to do with the battery lol i dont want to buy a new one. the charger works fine, i tested it. the battery has only been used about 20 times but it has been sitting for a while.

It still can be the battery. What type of battery does your bump starter have? If its only the hobby packs you may as well just get a couple of new ones, but if its something different, take it down to your local battery store an they will soon tell you if its buggered or not.

its a 12 volt gel cell
