Josey.......definately RC Report. More in depth, and less advertising.

Hello; Well I subscribe to both, but I prefer RC Report, and if I could get it on the newsstands, I would, but I can't, so I have to subscribe to get it. I mentioned this debate at the flying field to a few veteran (respected) flyers. The comments I got back were about the ease of reading RC Report, with their white pages with big print, as opposed to tiny print on coloured backgrounds on Fly RC. Then there is the "credibility" factor to consider; can anyone remember any time that Fly RC has panned any object they tested? No? me either. everything is just great there. RC Report has at least one cluncker in each issue, and they are not shy about telling what it takes to make it perform like the box art says it should. Plus there's a "sense of humour" to RC Report that is woefully lacking in this day and age, that I would like to encourage.

My daughter bought me the Fly RC subscription and renews it annuslly at my birthday (isn't she great?), otherwise I don't think I would subscribe, though I would buy the odd issue off the newsstands if it had an item on something I was interseted in.

If you want to really "read good articles" then definitely RC Report. Fly RC merely has "soundbite" type articles and is mostly a monthly catalog. MTC.

They are very different mags. I like both for different reasons. RC Report is good reading, but lacks the Ads. Fly RC has all the ads of the new stuff coming, but I don't care much for the articles.

I can look / read through a FLY RC in a little over an hour, but I'll read just about every article in RC Report over several days. I kinda like the New Engine guy in RC Report, he definately has some humor to him, and Dicks reviews are quite good.

If you want shinny ads and ad revenue supported reviews then Fly RC is the obvious choice.

If you want great coverage by great writers and an editor that will let them say it like it is, advertiser or not, RC Report. Even my wife reads the From The Editor each month.

I would buy RC Report if it only contained Dick Pettit's column. However, there is much, much more of value. Great Mag.

Non of the other magazines compare with RC Report for content, but many of them have really nice photography. I Subscribe to RCR for the words and MAN for the pictures. Not a bad approach.

R/C Report has it hands down, 2nd place would be Flying Models. As soon as my subscription to Fly R/C runs out I'm going to Flying Models.

Looking at the pole right now it is 44 votes for RCReport and 6 for FlyRC.

I guess those 6 have never seen RC Report!

Actually Jim, Dick is a great model photographer but to keep costs down most of the pages are in black and white.

Wish Gordon had a web site for color pics......hint hint
