I just checked the specs on the z9100T. The Z9100T is more than enough with 300oz of torque, for either steering or throttle/brake. I have 200oz torque servo for steering and a hi-tec 160oz for throttle/brake. That is plenty for me. I can lock the wheels if I set it that way.

personally I only use analog servos for my th/br on all of my rides. And the main reason is that the digi servos dont like to be locked in one position for a long time, so if your failsafe kicks in for a long time, then your digi may kill itself. I had a problem with a hitec 5995 burn up so i called hitec and they recommended not using a digi fo the thr/br and since then have switched all of mine to analog and have had zero problems. Again it MY personal preference to use analog for thr/br and digi for steering. All the high end servos will do the trick.

I found that there is no "best performance". There is "personal preference". It's up to your driving habits and what you expect out of your truck. I wanted to tone down the front end so this is my set-up. 7k front, 10K center, 3K rear.

I just hear alot of people say they know people that hate it because of that. I just do not see them popping out as easily as everyone says because they are in there so tight and the hole behind the ball is alot smaller than it. I just recently bought a caster K8T which is just like the mugen and I love it. At least you do not have the bolts backing out of the knuckles like on every other design and they strip the knuckles out when that happens sometimes.

The mugen is commen for having pillow balls pop out?? I've never heard of that. Like you said, the hole behind the pillow ball is so small. I'm not going to say it's impossible but damn, you gotta hit that really hard to pop it out.

i have ye to see anything in relation to pivot balls popping out prematurely.

The Mugen is a stout kit man, i think its an excellent race truggy for people who are looking for a nice stable/durable truggy. For this very same reason is why i think it s a great truggy for beginners as well.

Dont bash me for this but the reason why I asked is I have a couple of redcats (I also have a ST-RR and Hyper ST PRO) so I do have the good stuff to and in the redcat forum they the owner is thinking of putting PBS on the Hurricane and everyone there thinks it is not good and they pop out all the time which I do not see how. I also have a Caster K8T which is almost the same as the MBX5T and it does not pop out. Here is a link so if you guys want to put your 2 cents in (on the PBS design) NOT redcat please so they can see it is better. Some are saying Kingpin is better . I think it is a step bigtime in the right direction

Getting ready for the build, heres a before shot

Any items I should pick up from the start or is the kit good to go out of the box.

From what I read she's good to go, but you never know, things change like the weather in this hobby.

I need some help on what parts I need purchase to build a non-prospec kit. I'm starting from scratch equipment-wise - no radio, start box or tools and I'm trying to keep the total spend, not including the kit, to between $350 and $400. Looking mostly to race - starting at the sport level. New to Nitro. This is my rough take on my budget:

OFNA 10250 start box w/12v gel cell & charger: $100

Decent engine, maybe OS, .21 approx: $150

Exhaust - Totally clueless, guessing: $60

Servos - Mid level Hitec? 2@ $40: $80

Rx/Tx - Cheap AM/FM maybe used? $50

Total: $440
